Apple Cider Vinegar???
Just skip the "quick fix" type stuff - you'll only gain the weight back with short cuts. Do yourself a favor and simply concentrate on a good, clean diet and exercise with resistance training.
Assuming you'll still do this, it's around 2 tablespoons before each meal, and it's damned nasty to choke down. The first day it won't bother you, but by day two your stomach will burn because....well, vinegar is an acid.
It's not the way to go.
I don't know if they work...but if you want to try...go for the pills!!! you can have 2 caps before each meal :)
I heard that if you want it to work, you have to take the unfiltered liquid stuff. Just the smell of it isn't too interesting!
I'm not 100% sure about it's effect on metabolism but I think its benefits are that it helps in digestion, aka, moving things through your system better. You can drink 1 Tbsp in a glass of water 2-3 times a day if you want to give it a try.
Some things to keep in mind are a) it's acidic, so if you have any problems with tooth enamel this may not be a great idea. Acidic pH is when cavities get worse or start so if you're drinking something acidic throughout the day it can be bad for your teeth.
b) the pills are not even close to as effective from what I have read.
Then again, I have also read that some people have no negative effects on their teeth. My suggestion is to google it and you will find all the health benefits of apple cider vinegar.
You can help the acidic factor by adding 1/4 teaspoon of baking soda to a warm cup of water with 2 Tablespoons of cider vinegar. It takes the PH to around 7 which is ideal.
I don't think it tastes bad at all..............![]()
It has MANY health benefits as well.
Make sure you brush your teeth after drinking it.
I once knew a old Chinese man who lived to be 89... and was healthy and fit the whole time. When he was still alive, he attributed his health and vitality to drink 1 cup of Apple Cider Vinegar a day.... for years. When I meet him, I started drinking it as well. I lasted about a week!
No clue if it really helps but I swear this is a true story! ![]()
I don't know about increasing metabolism, but I hear it helps to prevent kidney stones. ;)
i kept hearing things about apple cider vinegar too. weird. a friend told me how it helped her keep from binging on her diet (appetite suppressant), then i heard that fergie (the singer) has a personal trainer that makes her take it... and that's how she got her AB-solutely perfect stomach. i didn't really believe it, but thought i'd try it out and bought some. you're only supposed to take about 1-2 tablespoons of it once a day. i guess some people do it as a shot (my friend) but i heard because it is acidic that a straight shot is bad for your throat. so i mix it w/ honey and hot water to make it taste good and drink it in the morning at work. it suppresses my hunger during that long stretch after breakfast. ALSO, i read online that it has all kinds of amazing health benefits. :-D
you're not supposed to drink it straight up. that's horrible for your teeth, esophageous, and stomach lining. you're supposed to dilute 2 tablespoons in a bottle of water. i add a bit of splenda, tastes sort of like apple juice. second of all, if you brush your teeth within the first 30 mins of drinking it, you'll only be rubbing the acidity in your enamel. if you must, mouth wash would do good 5-10 mins after. other than that, it helps your tummy when you overeat, helps digestion, doesn't do too much to your metabolism, clears up your skin a bit, makes you have this "golden" look to your skin, it's hard to explain....helps your hair quite a bit, increases calcium deposits in your nails.
i've tried it 2x a day for about a month and then stopped, and that's what i saw. results might be different on different people.
My husband and I tried it for awhile. I didn't see where it did anything. Since I drank it in water, I just quit the vinegar and drank plain water.
My husband was in agony after 3 or 4 days and it took another day for me to realize the acid in the vinegar was hurting his kidneys. He immediately stopped using it and started drinking loads of water to flush his kidneys. After another 3 or 4 days he was able to function normally again. So, if you do try it and your back starts aching, stop using it.
