The Apple-Diet???
I wanted to know what type of diet should an apple body shape have?
all my fat seems to just enter my tummy :/ and even though i've lost about 30 lbss i still look the same.. and no one tells me i've lost weight... ugh but whatever i think its becuz of my tummy...
Sorry Sweetie, I don't think there's anyway to eat or exercise that will focus on fat loss for just one area of the body.
If someone has found something, I'd love to know it!
I have the opposite body shape. I first lost all my fat from my upper body, when really it was my legs that had more fat to spare. Like you, I was frustrated (and tried everything). But once I neared my goal, things leveled out. I still think my upper body is too skinny and my legs are too thick...but I don't want to lose anymore weight. Hopefully I can figure out how to gain 5lbs of muscle on my upper body to level things out a bit better. I'm taking a break now, but that's my next goal.
A wobbly stomach is sometimes due to fluid retention. You could try a 'clean' diet for a while and see what difference it makes.
- Foods to avoid.... Processed foods, salt, refined carbohydrates, caffeine, alcohol, ready-meals, takeaway/restaurant/ready-made foods, sugar, fizzy drinks
- Foods to get more of.... Vegetables and other natural wholefoods (wholegrains, lean meat, oils, pulses/legumes, fish, fruit, nuts), home-cooked foods, water and fruit/herb teas
In addition, try to tone up your whole body with exercise.
Sorry to hear that you're awesome weight loss isn't showing. Simply put, the body can be mean about where it decides to lose weight. (After losing 10 lbs, my fingers were slim enough that my rings didn't fit, but no other noticeable change.)
I read an article recently about the effect of exercise on abdominal fat. Apparently the researchers found, in some cases, that exercise could reduce abdominal fat even in the absence of weight loss, and that for many apples shapes, its tough to get rid of belly fat without exercise. Whether or not this would work is completely dependent on the 'type' of fat you're carrying, but it's not a bad idea to up the exercise anyway : )
I can only suggest you continue to lose weight. Also try to accept your body type, If you're an apple your'e probably gonna stay an apple, same with Pears and hourglass figured people. Unless you're considerring going under the knife accept your body type it's beautiful and all yours.
Edited to add:
You also may want to try dressing for your body type. I watch "what not to wear" and they are always talking about it. Certan types of Clothing/colors/patterns accent certain body types. Find out what makes you look your best.
the fat does not melt on just one part of the body. that is why the only thing that workd is losing and hoping it will show
In regards to the post about dressing a certain way for your shape.. There is a lot of merit in that!
I'm an apple shape, too. I have big boobs, stomach and butt. I have stick legs, though! So, I always wear lighter colors on bottom and darker colors on top. Always v-neck or tops with a collar. I have gone months at a time without losing weight before but, by simply "dressing for shape", I had no end of comments on the amount of weight I'd lost!
hi
im the same..apple shape! ive lost weight all over but my stomach stills bit flabby....ive just started the 'ew Rules of weight lifting for women.'...there is a group here for this....its weight training, which will help in building and strengthning the muscles.
I just wanted to congratulate you on your loss - The body decides where it wants to remove fat from, unfortunately. Seconding the New Rules book, and any weight-training.
Also, I wanted to say that you have a GORGEOUS face, oh my god! <3
I'm pretty sure I'm pear shaped, tho I've become more hourglass-looking with my weight loss and strength exercises. My mother is an apple and I think that although I am pear shaped I store fat like an apple (some is on my thighs but it's more noticebly visible on my stomach). So far fat has been disappearing from my arms, legs and sides, but not my gut yet. I figure if I get to the goal weight CC suggested for me (128...I'm 5'4") and it's still there, I am just going to have to suck it up and deal. You'll have to do that too if your "imperfect zone" doesn't diminish to your satisfaction once you reach your healthy goal.
I agree about dressing for your shape...the right colors and cuts can do wonders. Also, posture and body carriage help. I've noticed that my "belly fat" isn't as noticeable when I stand or sit up straight (I think because that sort of posture requires some ab function). If I slouch, the belly comes out.
Don't worry, be happy you're you!
