Any Apple Shapes Lose Their Stomach Fat?

Quote  |  Reply

Or the majority of it.  I am an apple shaped (small arms and legs) woman who has big breasts and huge stomach.  I want to lose both, but I really want to lose the fat in my stomach.  It's quite frustrating hearing that the fat in your stomach is the last area to trim down.  Also, the exercises for doing so are so complicated and confusing.  I am not sure those exercises are even correct.

I have tried for years to lose my stomach fat and only lost a few inches but never anything noticeable.  Crunches, leg lifts, sit ups seem useless.  Everyone in my family has a gut and many have tried losing it to no success.  Therefore, I see no way that I will lose it which is the main reason why I want to lose weight.

So, it would be helpful to know if any of you have lost your stomach fat and if so how?  I am willing to do anything.

I am an apple shape with big boobs too, and I am at a healthy weight (5'-4", 127 pounds), I don't really have stomach fat now...borderline though. When I was heavier, at about 135 I had definite stomach fat. The only way I have ever completely gotten rid of it has been to be at a low weight, although since I have been weight lifting, my weight doesn't need to be quite as low because of the muscle I have built. Unfortunately, I think that's just the way it is for us folks, fat has to leave all the other body parts before it hits the stomach area (I even went down 2 bra sizes).

pretty much everyone around here will tell you, you can't choose where weight comes off your body.

I am an apple, and my stomach is the only place where I still feel some weight needs to come off.  And it is finally (albeit slowly) coming off.  I'll always have a thick middle compared to my hips, but the ratio is getting better, anyway.  As for how I did it?  Well I'm a cardio nut (ie 60 minutes or more, daily, with intervals, at high intensity), with some haphazard moderate strength training.

As for my diet, well, it's fairly low fat, high protein, high fiber.  I don't eat a lot of refined carbs.  I've read that diets high in refined carbs tend to cause increased fat storage in the middle area, but I'm not sure how valid that is.  Either way refined carbs aren't that good for you.

I like running and walking but my legs are so skinny, I'm afraid that I'll hurt myself.  All the fat is in my midsection and it's holding me back.

I am very much an apple shape.  I have lost 75lbs (with a lot more to go) and a massive (sarcasm engaged) 3 inches off of my belly.  I can't tell you how frustrated I am about that because it holds me back from going down dress sizes.  I have lost 4 dress sizes on my top and barely 2 on my bottom only because things have to fit over the non-moving belly.

i've always been an apple, a huge apple. LOL i'm still an apple after losing 72 pounds, but a much smaller apple at least.

that's ok though. i knew the belly would be the last to leave & it's finally going away! slowly but surely... :D

my boobs & butt are gone!

Get rid of all the sugar in your diet except sugar from fruit.  Do not eat anything white. Only whole wheat pastas, bread, cereals, brown rice and other whole grains.  Check the ingredient lists and make sure there is no added sugar in your bread etc... Eat balanced meals carbs/protein/fat.  Eat lean proteins...chicken breast, turkey, salmon, lean cuts of red meat are ok a couple times a week.  Get your fat from nuts, avocados, olives, olive oil etc.... Eat 5-6 small meals a day.  Make breakfast your biggest meal.  Drink a lot of water. Eat at least your BMR everyday and more on workout days.

i am a happy apple, lost 40+ pounds and most of it is from my stomach.
