Approaching the Finish Line Group: Only 20 pounds or LESS left until your goal!!!
Hello all! This is a group for those of us who have been living a healthy lifestyle for sometime now and have dropped a lot of weight. I know personally after a year of losing weight steadily, I'm finally seeing the finish line approaching. I started at 230 pounds now down to 179 with 19 pounds to go, and I'm thinking it would be nice to chat with other people nearing the end of the line. So if you're getting close to that wonderful phase of your life where you get to maintain, this group is for you! We'll encourage each other, track our progress, and congratulate each other as we meet and exceed our goals!
So go ahead... post your story including where you were, where you are, and where you will be soon!!!
Together I KNOW we can finish up strong!!!!
Wow wow wow, great job! I'm at 145 down from 208, so I only have 15 more pounds to go!! It seems so close yet sooooo far. I have hope though, because I remember my first goal was to get to 145 when I was at 170, and I thought I'd never ever make it. But here I am : ]
I'm gonna kick the 140s' butt and then conquer the 130s too!!
*Bump*
Hooray for the both of you!
Cellulitedelight, I'm with you. I have about 19 pounds to go, but I may want to lose just a couple more after that, who knows. Good luck with the wedding, I think maintaining is the MOST important thing before your wedding. It's very easy to gain during that time with all the parties and tastings.
Nefertiti, congratulations on your incredible weight loss. You are SO close to the maintenance phase of your life! I have no doubt you'll conquer the 130's very soon!
Lauren
I have 15 pounds to go to reach my goal of 145 pounds. I started this December 7th,05 and have lost 92 pounds so far. The last part is always the hardest so it is nice to have a group that knows what you are going through. Thanks for starting it.
WOW! Tammy you are quite a success story! Congratualtions on your amazing achievement! It's true, the last 20 pounds or less seem to be the hardest.
I've noticed in my weight loss that my plateaus last much longer as I approach the finish line. However, when I put on clothes that fit right a few weeks ago, they seem to be getting lose much more quickly. I guess that means I may be continuing to lose inches but not neccessarily pounds. I'm not sure if that makes sense.
Anyway, I am SO impressed with your story, and I know you'll reach that goal VERY soon!
Lauren
I have about 10 pounds left. I want to reach my goal!
I have been sick though this week so I am at 122. I need to start working out again and not eating my bagels that I am addicted too!!
I would love to join!
I have about 20 pounds left.
I am 5'8.5" and weigh 153. My goal weight is 130-135. I started at 164 in January.
These days I have been eating really poorly and have gotten minimal exercise, because final exams are coming up in a couple weeks. So, I need some encouragement because I would love to lose a lot more before summer! I NEED encouragement/tips. :)
Congrats to all of you for losing so much, it must have been some serious dedication!
try visualisation. I have been using hypnosis cd's since Feb and I find they work amazingly, the secret to those is visualisation.
Imagine yourself going about your daily business at your goal size, going shopping for clothes, getting ready for a night out etc. Think of the feeling of happiness and pride you'll feel in yourself and remember that it wont be long until you are doing and feeling all that for real.
it works for me :)
225-188...13 to go! I'm in!
Weigh in?
I say wednesdays or thursdays?
I was at 159 this morning. 14 more to go. What days would we do the weigh ins? I like Thursdays but whatever day is good for me (well, execpt the weekends)
Good Luck everyone!

Umm I say THURSDAYS because, conveniently enough, those are my normal weigh-in days : ]
Also, I've been thinking... It will be insane once I get to the maintenance level, because I think it will just be really hard to mentally get out of 'diet' (err, healthy lifestyle) mode. Ya know?? Like, I'm constantly thinking 1200 calories, that's IT! But then I'll be like 2000 calories, but I know I'll still want to eat 1200. I dunno, part of me doesn't want to reach my goal weight :-/ I like having something to work towards, and once I'm there, well, that's it.... Am I crazy??? I've just been at this weight thing literally my whole life, and to think that FINALLY I won't have to think about it anymore... it's absolutely insane!
nefertiti, I am with you on that. I want to reach my goal but feel like what do I do once I reach it and that monkey is off my back. Maybe I will set a new goal to get to 135, I don't know. This has been a big part of my life for so long I am not sure I will know what to do once I am at my target. If we feel this way I am sure there are others out there who also feel that way. I never thought scared would be a word I would use to describe reaching my goal but there it is.
Anyone else feel that way?
I am less scared about what I will do when I make it to my goal than how I'll feel if I don't make it to my goal. The last five weeks or so I've lost a total of 2 lbs (I was used to 1.5 - 2 per week prior) so I'm gettin' a bit frustrated. I've tried adjusting my calories and my workout without much avail at this point.
Any advice for beating the nasty, mean and evil PLATEAU?
(FYI...I'm 24 yrs old, 5'8 and am currently 158.5 lbs)

Thanks so much monoxi, that sounds like a great tip! I will try it.
Welcome everyone! So glad you've all decided to join!
Ok, so Thursday weigh ins it is. Good luck to everyone this weekend. It's easy to fall off the wagon on the weekend, but just keep in mind...
No food tastes as good as being at your goal weight feels.
Take care!

Ok, here is my weigh in. I was 158 this morning (up one from yesturday). That gives me a loss of 1 pound for the week.
Good luck to everyone. I look forward to seeing your results.
