Approaching the Finish Line Group: Only 20 pounds or LESS left until your goal!!!

Quote  |  Reply

Hello all! This is a group for those of us who have been living a healthy lifestyle for sometime now and have dropped a lot of weight. I know personally after a year of losing weight steadily, I'm finally seeing the finish line approaching. I started at 230 pounds now down to 179 with 19 pounds to go, and I'm thinking it would be nice to chat with other people nearing the end of the line. So if you're getting close to that wonderful phase of your life where you get to maintain, this group is for you! We'll encourage each other, track our progress, and congratulate each other as we meet and exceed our goals!

So go ahead... post your story including where you were, where you are, and where you will be soon!!!

Together I KNOW we can finish up strong!!!!

Congratulations Tammy!

I'm at 178 today, was at 177.5 on Monday but thanks to water weight gain with PMS, I'm at 178.  That still gives me a loss of 1 pound this week.

HOORAY!

Keep it up everyone, it's getting closer!!!!

HMMM well last Thursday I was at 146, and today I'm at ....drumroll.... 146!! haha, yes, I've plateaued once again, wonderful (sarcasm)! But, this is just the way my body works, I suppose.. I'll plateau for a week or two (uh or three or four) then BAM I'll drop like 3 pounds on the scale! All I can do is stay the course, I'm afraid.

Better luck next week! lol, I will be 145 by then, ohhh maybe even 144 : D

Can I join? I started in January at 180.5 lbs and am now at 155.5 lbs (as of today's weigh-in), so down 25 lbs, with about 10-15 lbs to go (haven't decided yet). BTW, I'm 5'8" woman and 47 years old. I had been backsliding in my habits for about 3 weeks but am now back on the straight and narrow. My original plan was to be at goal by my birthday (June 21)--I don't think I'll make it, but I think I'll be close. I'm really looking forward to enjoying a summer as a slimmer, healthier me!

WELCOME Sophecesca!!!!!  Of course you can join, we're glad to have you.  Congratulations on your weight loss.  My birthday is June 22nd!!!  While I won't be at my goal by then either, it'll be a great birthday present just to be CLOSE to my goal!

Keep us posted on your progress, and good luck on the straight and narrow.  I know you can do it!!

Lauren

No food tastes as good as healthy feels

hey! i am sorry i missed the weigh in this week. i totally forgot we have it on thursdays because it another one i have it on saturdays.

i am at 146lbs today and its great because I have not eaten too well this week!

Ok ok ok, so I have good news.. I'm on my period!! LOL I know, 'why is THAT good news??' you ask? Because it explains my 'binges' for the past two days, and the fact that I haven't lost any weight! YAY!

So by this thursday I should definitely be under 145 Laughing

So I started my diet in December 2005 when I was about 205 pounds. I was able to go down all the way to 145 by the summer of 2006 but then a couple of things happened and by the summer of 2007 I was up to 180!!! Anyways on Dec of 2007 I decided to get back on my healthy eating and as of today I am 144 :D!!! WOOT WOOT. Since I'm pretty short, 5'1, my goal weight is 120 which means I have about 24 pounds to go!!!

I know you said 20 pounds of less but 24 is pretty close lol... And I really need some motivation to stay on track and be able to drop these last 24 pounds. I know it will be a challenge but I'm pretty confident I will be able to make it... or so I hope!!!

And by the way, Congrats everyone on your success stories!!! If losing weight was as easy as gaining it I would probably be eating a Oreo Shake right now!!!

I'm a little late but I'd like to participate...

You all put me to shame! Congratulations on your weight-loss success!

From my highest starting weight (155 lb) it's taken me almost 2 years to get down to where I am now... 121 lb. The weight loss seems to be suspended at the moment... blah. I have exactly 6 more pounds to go.

I would like to join in as well!!! I started at 255 Jan 07 and I am down to 149!  Only 9 more lbs for me!!!!!  I am 5'7 and nobody seems to get it.....your gonna look sickly if you lose anymore weight...blah blah blah!!!! I would  be happy around 135! but 140 is my goal and has been since I started!!

good luck to you all!!!!!!!!

I added you as my friend cause we have (practically) the same stats! I'm 5'8" and 146! My original goal weight was 145, but now that I'm here it's 130.. And I agree that anything under that would look anorexic and gross! We should both get to 135 together :-D we can support each other and update each other and stuff

PS: you look hot in your pic! I can't even imagine how you used to look at 255!!

NEFERTITI.......FOR SURE LETS DO THIS TOGETHER!!!!!!!!!!!

MAKES ME FEEL GOOD TO SEE YOUR PIC AND KNOW WE HAVE ABOUT THE SAME STATS SOO THATS A KEWL!

I am a male 23, 5-10.  I started October 1st 2007 at 218lbs. I am now down to 153 and am very close to reaching my goal weight of 147 for June 1st

That was the goal I originally set for myself the day I joined the gym last october. As of now I would like to modify the goal a little and shoot for 140 by July 1st.

I have been reading this forum since October but really I went against all the advice listed. I have been eating sub 1000 calories for months and I dont plan on changing that since its been working great for me. I have not hit a plateau in 7 months and have been showing steady progress since the start. I also don't feel I have lost muscle mass as my arms are the biggest they have ever been and I can can lift so much more now than when I started

I do cardio at the gym 3-4 times a week, 60 mins on the Precor. I lift weights about 5 times a week.

Going on this diet has been the best decision of my life. I feel so much better have more energy than ever before and just feel great all around. I know I will hit my goal, nothing can stop me now.

Purrso-

Welcome to the group!  Yikes, only 1,000 calories a day for a guy isn't a lot.  Do you feel like when you finally reach your goal you'll be able to maintain?  You want this to be more of a lifestyle than a diet, something you do forever as something good and healthy for you body.  Diets make your weight go up and down.  A healthy lifestyle keeps you on even ground.

Congratulations on your weight loss, you don't have much further to go at all!  Take care of you and be sure to stay healthy!

Lauren

I'm a little late but would love to join! i have lost 43 lbs so far, with 22 more to go!

I started at 195 in November 07 and began CC in January 08. I am currently 152 and working towards that 130 mark.

I have been looking for a group of people to stay focused with. This last chunk of weight seems to be the hardest to drop!

Thanks for the welcome.

I do feel I will be able to maintain. Once I hit my goal I can try to slowly (over a period of a few months) work my calories back up to 1500 a day. I don't know if I will make it all the way there but I will introduce a few more cals :)

I feel if I slowly introduce calories back I will do fine. I plan to keep my gym routine up for the rest of my life. At the current rate I have been losing almost 2 pounds a week since the start. If I can add calories in while keeping up the same exercise I should be able to maintain it. I will also add even more weights in the routine once I am near my goal to make good use of the extra calories.

I am not worried about a bad rebound as I have no desire for junk food anymore. I know the calories now are way too little but I am eating food its just healthy food. I eat raw broccoli, plain chicken, garden salad no dressing etc.

Thanks for the concern I will be sure to keep up with regular updates. I wish everyone else luck with their diets too :)

Welcome SammyKay and congratulations on your loss. (ha, this is the only place in the world where you're CONGRATULATING people on a loss!)

The last 20 pounds or so do seem to be the hardest.  I'm not sure if it's just in our heads or what, since we've been working at this for so long and we're just tired.  But I know we can do it.  Just to keep you and everyone up to date, we have weekly weigh ins on Thursdays.

Keep it up and KEEP POSTING!

Have a wonderful Monday.

Lauren

It is nice to see so many people joining. The more support the better. Good Luck to everyone this week.
