Approaching the Finish Line Group: Only 20 pounds or LESS left until your goal!!!
Hello all! This is a group for those of us who have been living a healthy lifestyle for sometime now and have dropped a lot of weight. I know personally after a year of losing weight steadily, I'm finally seeing the finish line approaching. I started at 230 pounds now down to 179 with 19 pounds to go, and I'm thinking it would be nice to chat with other people nearing the end of the line. So if you're getting close to that wonderful phase of your life where you get to maintain, this group is for you! We'll encourage each other, track our progress, and congratulate each other as we meet and exceed our goals!
So go ahead... post your story including where you were, where you are, and where you will be soon!!!

i weighed-in a day early in my other challenge....
Aww... I think we're all secretly wishing this week were going faster than it actually is. I don't know about where everyone else lives, but brrrrr! I'm cold! I just want to stay in my fleece pj's on my couch with a blanket, a book, and some coffee!

I knew it was coming, it was only a matter of time, but I was hoping to make it into the 120's before the weight loss came to a screeching halt! We're going to a birthday party this weekend, so I'm planning on a cheat day, maybe that will help things along a bit.
Hooray for me: Despite no movement on the scale, I have continued to do my C25K program, tomorrow is the last day for Week 5. I went to a children's Halloween party last night, ate a cup of salty oil-popped popcorn, that was my big treat, no candy at all!
Needs Improvement: While working hard at upping my protein, I have let my veggie intake fall off drastically again. I need to work on balance instead of one slice I guess.
I don't have a scale in the hotel so I'll be able to weigh in after Nov 14.
Otherwise , everything is great. Busy wt work and looking forward for the weekend

Needs Improvement: something clicked in the last couple of days; i just have to keep it up and not get complacent.
I was gone last Thursday so I did not weigh in. I will weigh in this Thursday though. I was really bad this weekend. I didn't care what I ate, just ate it. I so enjoyed it while it lasted though. Back to the grind. Hope everyone has a good week.

Needs Improvement: Ate so bad this week and have not worked out.
My heart has just not been in it this week. A couple days ago one of my sisters found out she has spots on her lungs and they think it may be cancer. She is only 37 years old and does not smoke at all. To say the least it through everyone for a loop. Then tomorrow my husband might lose his job. So you can see why I have been overeating. Everything still feels like a bad dream. I am waiting to wake up from it but I'm not.

The long conveted, highly anticipated 120's are mine!!
Hooray for me: I kept up my running program and kept my diet close to my goal (except for my wonderful cheat day that included chips, guacamole and fajitas!) and didn't have to hang just outside the reach of the 120's. I would love to make it to 125 by Christmas.
Needs Improvement: Keeping everything balanced, I need to focus on keeping all portions of my diet balanced, not just aim for good protein one day, then high veggies the next.
Tammy, so sorry to hear about your sister. Remember to care for yourself also.

I've done really well at cooking at home and not going out to eat. I've been staying on track with my food and calories.
Needs Improvement:
EXERCISE! My in laws have been staying at my house all week, and I can't exercise with them there. I normally exercise in my living room, and I just can't do it with extra people in the house :-)

Progress This Week: -2 (I didn't post last week, but I did weigh myself)
Hooray for Me: So I'm pretty sure my highest weight was 244 around January 2007, so this is the official 100 lbs. mark! It's crazy to think about it like that. I'm celebrating a little on the inside (though I know the last ten might be the hardest), but I don't really have anyone in, you know, my real life who I talk to about my weight loss on a regular basis, so I guess it'll just have to be my own little achievement.
Needs Improvement: Uhhhh . . . gym. (that would have been my needs improvement last week anyway. This past week it wasn't particularly relevant because I was pretty sick with tonsillitis&fever&yuck.) I think maybe more generally just making better food decisions when I am STRESSED.
Tammy, I'm also so sorry to hear about your hard times. I hope everything works out as well as it can.

Needs Improvement:
not really sure how I've lost weight. I haven't exercised, and I haven't logged most of my calories this week. I don't think I've been over eating this week, just not watching as closely as I should be.

Hooray for me I have not worked out all week and I am down 3 from last week. I have been doing very well with stress eating and hope it stays that way.
Needs Improvment: Need to start working out again.
My husband did end up losing his job and then Saturday at 1:30 in the morning, my husband his brother and their cousin had a roll over accident on their way hunting. Thankfully no one was hurt bad. My sisters tests came back cancer free. They are not real sure what caused the spots but it is not cancer. Then find out they found spots on my sister in laws liver. Thankfully that too came back cancer free. It has been one thing after another this month. I am just going to concentrate on not gaining until after the holidays and then get back into this. I will stay weigh in but not going to push it until after the first on the year.

Hooray for me: I'm just about finished with week 7 (of 9 weeks) of the c25k running program. I'm running 3 days a week, going to the gym 3 days a week.
Needs Improvement: The Holiday season is beginning, so the eating hasn't been great this week. I was "that person" who brought a platter of apple slices to a Church brunch this morning. I knew there would be tons of pastries, etc so I needed something sweet to eat. Apples are better than donuts - right?!! I had a small spoonful of scrambled egg casserole and a spoon of hashed browns. Other than that, I stuck with the apples.
4.4 pounds by Christmas, it seems like such a small number, but with all the Holiday celebrations, and my husbands birthday between now and then, I know it's going to take some work. Next week is going to have to be a very disciplined week for me, before we go away for Thanksgiving. Happy to hear the good news about your sister Tammy.

Hooray for Me: Honestly I don't think it's that bad considering that the healthy options were limited; didn't have ANY control and all I could do was choose the "better" option. During the last 3 days I did eat way better b/c we discovered a lovely restaurant wt salads;
I did play pool and bowling like crazy during the past week. So i did burn at least *some* calories.
Needs Improvement: I'm going back to the routine:)
TOM hit on Wed (as it should have) so I'm staying away from the scale. I don't like to see the water weight lol
