Approaching the Finish Line Group: Only 20 pounds or LESS left until your goal!!!
Hello all! This is a group for those of us who have been living a healthy lifestyle for sometime now and have dropped a lot of weight. I know personally after a year of losing weight steadily, I'm finally seeing the finish line approaching. I started at 230 pounds now down to 179 with 19 pounds to go, and I'm thinking it would be nice to chat with other people nearing the end of the line. So if you're getting close to that wonderful phase of your life where you get to maintain, this group is for you! We'll encourage each other, track our progress, and congratulate each other as we meet and exceed our goals!
So go ahead... post your story including where you were, where you are, and where you will be soon!!!
Together I KNOW we can finish up strong!!!!
I will not be weighing in today due to the massive downfall I had this past weekend.
I went to a music festival and indulged in that dreaded vendor food. Although I was hiking around and dancing on hilly terrain (I'm sure I got some good exercise lugging all my equipment to the campsite, too).. I didn't drink nearly enough water. Plus its TTOM.
Therefore, I am giving myself a week to recuperate and shed that sodium out of me! I don't want to get discouraged b/c I have never seen the scale go up once on this journey.. and I'm not going to start now!
I will update next week and hopefully I can hit that 50 lbs lost mark!
BTW - Congratulations theluckiest & tammy_180! Those are big milestones!
sammykay, I got a bit derailed this weekend too. I'm weighing in at 146 lbs. which is up 1 lb from last week. I was hoping to maintain but I guess I went a bit too far with the holiday feasting. I'm back on track now so looking forward to a healthier and more productive week.
I am down to 145 this week, down 2 pounds from last week. I will take it but I was hoping for 3 pounds. I know the closer I get to the goal the longer it will take so no worries.
Down 73 pounds total now in just under 8 months. I have bested my original goal by 2 pounds already so thats good :) It is nice to see the target finally a reality
Hopefully I can take 8 more off in about 4 weeks.

Tosammykay24,
I think you should weigh in, you dont have to share it but I think it will be good for you even if the scale shows an awful number it will be future motivation to stay strong next time you have the urge to splurge on some fatty food
sammykay, I will keep my fingers crossed for you this week. I hope when I read this next week that you will have hit your 50 pound mark.

My skinny soon-to-be sister in law is visiting at the end of next month. When she first met me (I should say "sized me up") I was really heavy last year. Shes's really competitive and took delight in how much smaller she was than me. She actually rubbed it in how little she was when we would go shopping, saying things like "I may actually need an extra small in this. I can't believe it!" Well this year, she's in for a surprise. The last time she saw me was at Christmas, and I was at 193 pounds. I'm at 172 now, and I WILL be in the 160's when she visits. Take THAT! No, I'm not as small and petite as she is, and I never will be. That's something I just have to get used to. Plus, I'm pretty sure she's prettier. But I can be fit and attractive in my own way. And I WILL be confident when she's around. She won't make me feel 2 feet tall. I REFUSE to let her steal my self-esteem.
Sorry, that was a pep talk to myself.
Hooray for progress, and hooray for change. I am different now. I am healthy. I am fit. I am me. And I'm pretty proud of that.

weighing in: 154, same as last week. I was hopeing to hit the 100 pound mark but with 3 pounds lost last week I am not surprised to see it the same. Oh well, keep on trucking.
Congrats, sammykay, purrso and theluckiest on the loss.
theluckiest- good luck with your soon to be sister in law. I hate it when people think they are better than you becouse they are lighter. Make her jaw drop when she sees you next month. I will be routing for you.
Can I join your group? My name is Tammy also! Here are my stats: I started at 236 lbs in October, currently at 180 lbs, so I've lost 56 lbs & I want to get to 160 lbs. I'm undecided if I want to go any lower than 160.
My normal WI day is Monday, so last Monday I weighed 183. But I weigh myself every couple days so the Thursday WI is no problem. I tend to lose weight in spurts! Anyone else do this too? Sometimes I'll lose 5 lbs in a week, then no loss for 2 weeks! It's crazy!
Congrats to those of you who have lost this past week. Weight loss is so unpredictable at times! :D
Tammy180- Thanks for the support! Glad to know someone understands. Congrats on maintaining for the past week. After a 3 pound weight loss, many folks will actually see an increase in their weight the following week. Good job you for staying on course. I think this kind of ties in with what Momof2funkds wrote about. We lose 3-5 pounds one week then maintain for two weeks. But then the next week we see another loss! I figure as long as we're losing/maintaining, lwe're doing something right!
By the way, welcome Momof2funykids! Glad to have you in the group! This is a very supportive group as we're all getting close to that lovely stage of life... MAINTENANCE! Your stats sound similar to mine. My goal is actually 159 pounds just so I can say I'm in the 150's. But our start weights are the same. How tall are you?
Good luck to everyone this week/weekend. The goal is so close and we've all come so far. Those who have always been skinny will never appreciate what they have because they didn't have to work for it. Us on the other hand, we know the struggle we've gone through to get healthy. And I think we're better people for it! Keep up the great work! Remember: No food tastes as good as being healthy feels!

the luckiest - I'm 5'6" and medium framed.
It was really hot here today (95 degrees), so I didn't do much. I did go clean my car this evening. I left at 7:30 pm, vacuumed, shampooed and cleaned the whole inside. Now it smells like a new car! It's suppose to be hot all weekend so I'll be in the house! lol Maybe I sweat off a few pounds this evening! hehehe
Just wanted to share this with you all. As of this morning I have lost 100 pounds (152). I am 7-10 ( not sure what I want the end to be yet) pounds away from my goal weight. I am so happy I can't sit still today. It has been 2.5 years to date that I started this, what an anniversary.

Oh WOW that's amazing! Congratulations, I'm sure you look (but more especially FEEL) fabulous! You should do something really special today to celebrate! I wish I knew the exact date I started to lose weigh, I guess it would be in July sometime. This July will be the 3 year anniversary of me losing 63 pounds. Yay go us!!

CONGRATS!!!! :D That is so awesome!!!!
Today was my weigh in and I've lost NOTHING! I gained 2 lbs since 2 days ago! It can't be real weight. I'm checking it in a couple days to see if it's gone. Although, today I was really bad! :( It was my daughters 21st birthday and we ate and ate and ate. I figure after all is said and done, I ate 2000 calories today! I did walk 3 miles this morning. And I did squeeze in some fruit today.
I guess the rest of the week I'm going to have to be really good and exercise every day! Good thing my week starts on Monday so I have til next monday to weigh in again. This was my first big splurge since October, so I guess I'll be ok.
Your first big splurge since October? How have you managed that? I have a hard time going a week without a splurge like that. I think it is funny that we think 2000 cals is bad. I know on a reduced cal diet it is a lot but not way overboard. We just get use to eating so few calories that when we eat more we feel like we were really bad. Besides it was your daughters 21st birthday, you should enjoy that.
Recheck your weight in a couple days and I bet that it will be back to where it was before your "splurge".
Yeah, my 1st splurge! I've been so determined to get this weight off that I really watch what I eat and when. I have a hrad time exercising (back and leg pain), so I walk as much as possibe with cane in hand. So I have to watch what I eat at all times or I don't lose anything.
I'm just going to hold off til Monday to weigh in. I don't want to see that number on the scale yet. :)

Figure out what type of eater you are and you might just find the answer to permanent weight loss.
