Quote  |  Reply

Hello all! This is a group for those of us who have been living a healthy lifestyle for sometime now and have dropped a lot of weight. I know personally after a year of losing weight steadily, I'm finally seeing the finish line approaching. I started at 230 pounds now down to 179 with 19 pounds to go, and I'm thinking it would be nice to chat with other people nearing the end of the line. So if you're getting close to that wonderful phase of your life where you get to maintain, this group is for you! We'll encourage each other, track our progress, and congratulate each other as we meet and exceed our goals!

So go ahead... post your story including where you were, where you are, and where you will be soon!!!

Together I KNOW we can finish up strong!!!!

Weighing in today. I was at 152 this morning, down 2 from last week but still right at my 100 pound loss.

I have somewhere between 19 and 23 pounds to go I am the mother of five beautiful children I currently weigh between 149 and 153 keep moving up and down starting to make me crazy .  I can't seem to get under 149 would like to be 127 really need some tips to break plateau I'm going to weigh in on thursdays I have lost a total of 40 lbs since december  good luck all

I've been on vacation with my daughter for the last week and did not make good choices at all (cheeseburgers, funnel cake, french fries, etc.).  I have totally fallen off of the wagon and am having a terrible time getting back to my regular eating and exercise routine.  I weighed in at 147.5 this morning.  That's up 1.5 lbs from 2 weeks ago.  :-(  But today is a new today!

Hi All!!  What an exciting group to join!  I'm 25 down from 225 to 146 currently.   I have about 16 more pounds to loose.  I slacked off for the winter season but I'm back on track now counting calories and going to the gym 3 times a week.  I'm down 8 lbs for the month of April.  I'm going to start running again next week.  Cant Wait!!

ajazzymama, you had cheeseburgers, funnel cake, french fires, ect and you are only up 1.5 pounds from 2 weeks ago? How did you manage that? I would have been up a whole lot more than that. I am sure that is just water weight from the salt in that food. You must have been walking a lot or something to only be up that little. Plus you were on vacation, hope you enjoyed it. Now that you have had that food last week, do you miss having it at all? I find that when I have something like that it does not taste the same as it use to. Do you find that to be true also?

LOL tammy.  During my vacation, I also had sausage biscuit, hashbrowns, sweet tea, fried chicken, & potato chips.  I didn't have a single fruit or vegetable in 5 days (very bad I know).  I definitely had a fabulous vacation and we did do plenty of walking, stair climbing, and swimming ... all in 100 degree weather.  Whenever I fall into the fast food pit, it is very difficult for me to transition from high calorie food back to healthy food.  I miss it a lot for a couple of days then I'm okay after that.  The most important thing for me is getting back to a regular exercise routine because exercise it's almost like an appetite suppresant for me.  Spinach is my most favorite food so that helps alot too.
foreverme, I plan on going back to running too.  I'm not very good at it yet though but I force myself since it burns calories quicker than walking.  Working out in the winter was actually easier for me (less sweat!).  I also get distracted with summer activities and BBQs (all that good food!) but I have recommitted myself to the program and I'm back on track ... at least for today :-)

Thursday, 06/12/08 Weigh-in:

Current Weight: 144

Pounds Lost: Down 1 from last week & 51 total.

Pounds Left: 14 to go!

CONGRATS!!

Today I'm 150 lbs. still  15 from my goal. I've a medium frame and do

not imaging myself under 135. For me this will be a good weight.

Perhaps I'll change my mind later.

It's hard you know, I'm exercising so hard  two hours a day 4 or 5 times a week

and I lose only 20 lbs in 5 months.

I don't see myself on this pace for more than I need.

jomatty - 20 pounds in 5 months is great! Remember when you lose slow, you're more likely to keep it off.

ajazzymama - you did something right on that vacation. Gaining only 1.5 eating all that! WOW!

Not much to say about me. It's TTOM, so no weigh in anytime soon. I'm just too miserable and bloated to step on that scale.

Stay on track everyone! Lose those inches and pounds!!! :D

Whoops! A day late but here's my weigh in: I didn't lose anything this week. It's the week before my period and I always retain water, so I weigh exactly the same thing I did last week.  BLAH!!! I just have 13 pounds to go after losing nearly 60... WHY can't I get these last 13 pounds to move more quickly?

I would have really liked to lose this week considering I've been working out non stop and eating right. I'm hoping after next week's cycle that I'll see a loss. I hate this time of the month, it does terrible things to my weight loss patterns. Boo! I am getting close to moving out of the 170's and into the 160's and I JUST can't wait to say goodbye to the 170's for good! I can remember each time I hit a milestone like that, like when I got out of the 200's for the first time, which was HUGE for me. Each milestone feels even better. The 160's are getting closer and closer and I'm getting so excited but SO impatient!!! I'm just ready to MAINTAIN FINALLY!!!!!!!! AHHH!!!!!!!!!!

:-)

Lauren

momof2funykids & the luckiest, TTOM is always a challenge isn't it?  But it feels so good when it's over and the scale goes down.  I'm sure you'll both have a great weigh after that!

Does everyone here exercise?  I try to have a good walk (or jog) at least a few times a week.  Also I've been trying to integrate some strength training into my schedule but I haven't been able to consisently stick with a set routine yet and I sporadically do yoga and exercise DVDs.

I've lost 103 pounds and I only have about 25 more to go, I feel great and can't wait!!

I certainly hope I have a good weigh in after this crap is over!  I'm starting to go thru the "change" so TTOM is now horrible for me. I just stay home and lay around til it's over and I never know when that's gonna be! :(

I walk about 4x a week for an hour. But with no treadmill, I have to walk outside weather permitting. I hate the heat so I stay in when it's really hot and humid. I have weights I use when I get the urge. I just can't get motivated to use them anymore.

Octopusqueen - 103 pounds! You rock! :D  I know you've got energy out the whazoo now!!! lol  You probably look like a totally different person now. You're so close to maintaining. Are you nervous?

Weighing in today: I am up 2 from last week Cry. Hopefully that is all water weight and will come back off by next week.

octopusqueen, wow, 103 pounds that is wonderful. I am trying to catch up with you but I guess not this week. YOu will keep me motivated this week, Thanks.

Good Luck everyone

My weigh in today: 170 pounds, down 2 pounds from last week.  I'm so close to the 160's I can't even believe it!!!!  I have officially hit 60 pounds lost with only 11 more to go!  HOORAY!

Tammy180: I know it's only water weight. Give it another week and see where you stand. I'm sure you didn't gain two pounds in a week. Don't get discouraged, I was where you are last week and it can be frustrating. Keep it up, and the next time you get on the scale I think you'll be pleasantly surprised!

How is everyone else doing this week?

Lauren

Hi everyone!  I'm down 2 lbs from last week which means that I've officially recovered from my food-filled vacation.  Hope everyone has a good week and stays on track.  See ya next Thursday!

Okay so I'm at 144, which I'll take because this time I feel like it's going to stick! Gosh, I'm so tired of seeing the number 145. I never want to see it again in my life :P

I also kinda set myself back on track this morning with a little 'reality check'; I redid all of my numbers and set my activity level to sedentary and turns out I only burn 1800 a day! Well, no WONDER I haven't been losing weight for the past 6 weeks!!! I've been averaging around 1700-1800 calories a week, so I thought I had a huge deficit when really there was none at all! Somehow I let my average calories creep up from 1400 to 1800. Eek. Okay, so, I CHECKED MYSELF BEFORE I WRECKED MYSELF! But I do feel a little frustrated that I wasted the last 6 weeks. Oh well! Better late than never :D

Woops, I forgot to weigh-in Thursday! I guess it doesn't really matter because I lost 0 pounds. Yell It is TTOM though so I'm not stressing.

Good job to everyone else!

The luckiest - Doesn't it feel so awesome to get out of the 170's? Every time I lost 10 lbs I rewarded myself (with something other than food, obviously). I have been in the 140's for far too long now. Where are you 139!?

nefertiti- I just re-evaluated my stats last week too. Apparently, my sedentary burn is only 1770. I think that may be why I haven't been losing much. The smaller you get, the more you have to work for it. At least you realized it sooner than later!

On a side note, I finally put up a before/almost-after picture of myself. Everyone in this forum has pics to look at. And i feel like you guys have been talking to a graph with me. Haha, check em out!

So before I give my Thursday weigh in, I have to explain this past week so you understand how amazing it is that I didn't gain 5 pounds! My 25th birthday was this weekend, and my husband planned this big trip back to my college stomping ground where he had set up 3 different surprise birthday parties for me with different groups of friends (one in Memphis, Jackson, and Nashville), and all the parties were at RESTAURANTS. It was a long car ride too, and I feel like I ate the entire time out of boredom.  So even WITH that, I lost a pound this week! That crossed me into the 160's!  So here are my stats:

Thursday Weight In
Age: 25  Height: 5'10"
Start Weight: 230
Current Weight: 169
Goal Weight: 159

Hooray!

Lauren
