Hello all! This is a group for those of us who have been living a healthy lifestyle for sometime now and have dropped a lot of weight. I know personally after a year of losing weight steadily, I'm finally seeing the finish line approaching. I started at 230 pounds now down to 179 with 19 pounds to go, and I'm thinking it would be nice to chat with other people nearing the end of the line. So if you're getting close to that wonderful phase of your life where you get to maintain, this group is for you! We'll encourage each other, track our progress, and congratulate each other as we meet and exceed our goals!
So go ahead... post your story including where you were, where you are, and where you will be soon!!!
Together I KNOW we can finish up strong!!!!
yay lauren! congratulations!!
WAY TO GO LAUREN!!!!
Congratulations theluckiest!
Thursday Check In
Current Weight: 150
Progress This Week: -2 lbs
Hooray for Me: Despite having a cold for the past week, I think I've done a good job of doing a lot of walking to make up for the fact that doing any running/biking would probably give me an asthma attack. I also have been feeling slightly better, so I made it to the gym for a quick run last night and I'm planning on doing the same tomorrow.
Needs Improvement: Body image. I saw some pictures that were taken of me and my friends this past weekend, and I realized that I actually look kind of good, which is weird because I usually don't feel like that when I look in the mirror in the mornings. I guess because I see myself everyday and weight loss is such a slow process, I don't really think of myself as being all that much skinnier than before. Also, intellectually I realize now that I'm just barely scraping by in the healthy BMI range, but I still feel like I'm overweight.
Anyway, keep up the hard work everyone!
Thursday Check In
Current Weight: 123.7 lbs
Progress This Week: "gained" 1.7 lbs
Hooray for Me: I eat enough again; I only had 1 small chicken drumstick (boiled) on Sunday; otherwise ate ONLY vegetarian food!
Needs Improvement:
Exercise...still lacking in this dpt. After working and doing house stuff , talking to hubby and whatnot, somehow I still only walk for exercise, which is, evidently NOT enough.
Thursday Check In:
Curent Weight: 133.6
Progress this week: -2.0 pounds
Hooray for me: I continued on with the C25K program, I have completed 2 of 3 runs in week 2, one more tomorrow. I can't say that I'm loving it, I can say that I'm determined to work really hard on the program. I run (and also walk) three days a week, go to the gym three other days a week, one day off.
Needs Improvement: I really need to incorporate some weights into my routine, but I haven't done it yet. I even bought the New Rules book. Honestly, I'm so freaked out about gaining weight, I want to wait until I get down into the 120's then tackle this new thing. I'm picking up running right now, I don't want to add two new things either.
I really want to get down to 125 by Christmas, with an eventual goal (probably) of 119 that I will decide on when I reach 125. Hope everyone else is having a good week. Keep the faith cricketro05, its tough to lose weight when you're already so low.

you can say that again! at least i'm out of the 127-129 lbs ...where I was stuck for OVER a year!
oh yeah, when you add weights, your weight will increase a bit but the inches will go down. i think it's a fair deal ;)
A_mckh- Congrats on your progress this week! I know how tough it can be to pick up an exercise routine that you don't necessarily love, but you know it works! I take some intense cycling classes, and I hate them. The whole time I'm in there sweating and yelling at the instructor in my head, I really want to quit. But afterwards, you feel so good that you did it, and the results are great! Keep it up!
Cricketro05- This is where it really gets tough, and when you want to just give up and start eating everything in sight. Don't do it, and I promise next week will be better. You've still made so much progress, by breaking that year long plateau! Keep on keeping on!!!!
Thursday Check In:
Curent Weight: 158.5
Progress this week: -0.5 pounds, maybe more. It's that time of the month and I can't get an accurate weight read this week.
Hooray for me: I've really gotten a handle on cravings and night bingeing recently. That's a struggle for me, and it's still really hard to say no, but I'm doing it somehow.
Needs Improvement: Eating when I'm in a group setting. When there's lots of good food out, I want to just eat and eat like everyone around me, and I don't always pay attention to what I'm eating and how much. I'm on the board of directors for a group in the city, and we have our annual retreat this weekend. There will be lots of junk food and alcohol EVERYWHERE, so I'm planning on bringing my own snacks. Plus I think I'll go for a run Saturday morning before everyone gets up. I really want to stick to it this weekend.
I only have around 5 pounds left to lose, and I know if I'm disciplined I can get rid of those last pounds in the next month. I watched Biggest Loser last night and some of those people lost 5 pounds in one week! Unhealthy, yes, but wow if I could do that I'd be done with my weight loss! At 5'10", my goal of 153 pounds is just right around the corner (but I think I'll want to get to 150 just for kicks). Isn't that funny how we set our goals, then when we reach them, and we go further? But once I hit 153, I won't be soooo concerned with 150. If it happens, great. Otherwise, it'll just be about toning my body and getting rid of any excess flab. Hooray!
Can't believe this weight loss journey is nearly over!

heh after a year at abt the same weight I think i know very well not to quit lol plus when i started to lose weight (on another site) i was obese and by my wedding i was at a normal weight. this is a lifestyle and the last 5 lbs aren't exactly something that are bugging me much. but, i want to get to that elusive "perfect" weight
Hi, all! I haven't been on here anytime lately because I got a horrible cold in the midst of midterms so was basically running, sleeping, studying and, of course, eating. luckily amidst the craziness I didn't gain much weight, so I'm ready to pick up again. To everyone who has kept losing- GREAT WORK! success stories are so wonderful to hear about, and so motivational.
Current Weight: 141.2 pounds
Progress this week: ? (I didn't weigh in last week)
Horray for me: I'm becoming more strict about logging in EVERYTHING and therefore am getting a much better picture of what I'm eating on a daily basis.
Needs Improvement: Now that I have buckled down and logged completely honestly, I see that I'm consistently over my target calorie count. I am really going to work on staying under it now that the crazy schedule is going to be more consistent with my 5 exams over with.
Good luck everyone!
Thursday Check In
Current Weight: 143.8
Progress This Week: lost 0.7
Hooray for Me: hmm. well, i've kept up the running and i've been eating pretty well.
Needs Improvement: broke down and drank beer the night before last. bah!
rats! my weight has been pretty up and down, but both monday and wednesday i weighed in at 142.7, so today is a big disappointment. oh well - a loss is a loss, right?
Well, Aunt Flow finally showed her face. So thankfully some of the water weight has gone away.
Current Weight:151
Progress:down 2 pounds from last week
Hooray for me:I have been so good this week. I even had a wedding this last weekend and here I am down 2 pounds from last week. No late night snacking,no snacking in between meals. I am so proud of the work I did this week. I lifted for 90 minutes this week and have been doing very well on my cardio.
Needs Improvment: I am still up a total of 3 pounds from my lowest(148). So I need to get back there.
I have been lifting weights so I know that has something to do with the weight gain but I am fighting to get it back down. I think I may have PCOS so I have changed my diet to include lower GI foods. My mood swings are way down and so are my cravings. I don't even want sweets, which is saying something. I LOVE sweets but now I can take them or leave them. Hopefully I can see the 140's again next week, or at least 150. I know I can do this.
hey everyone can i join this? im down to my last 15-20lbs. i Used to have a really bad dieting past.....3 years ago i was anorexic. i lost 38lbs in less then 3 months. after all that i weighed 128! after that summer i started to miss food alot i binged like a maniac. i gained all the weight plus some back. i went up to 173 in just a few months. i got so depressed i started taking diet pills and laxatives like crazy. One day i just woke up and realized how much i was damaging myself. Luckily i was able to stop myself from being that way....a few months ago i decided to just watch what i was eating and not go crazy with myself. i wound up losing 23lbs! so at the moment i weigh 150 =] it feels great and i want to keep going. my goal is to be 130-135. I am the healthiest ive ever been in my life right now. i never starve myself anymore. i eat proper amount of calories and i treat myself all the time. it feels so good to lose weight the healthy way and i never thought id be able to! i am struggling to lose the last 20 but thats why i joined this website and this forum. help me out and ill help you out =] think thin everyone! <3
I've been weighing myself right when I get up in the mornings, but I keep forgetting to post until late on Thursday night.
Anyway:
Thursday Check In
Current Weight: 146 (as of this morning)
Progress This Week: -4 lbs, which seems like a lot, I suppose, but today is the last day of my period, so I think maybe last week's was a little high because I was about to start my period.
Hooray for Me: I'm over my cold and I've gone to the gym three out of the past four nights (and should be going again tonight, too)
Needs Improvement: I tend to do a really good job of counting the calories I eat in my room for breakfast or lunch, but then it's hard to do for the dining hall/restaurants. I usually just try to make sure I'm eating some of the healthier dining hall options and focusing on portion control, but when I go to a restaurant I don't make that kind of effort (I'm feeling bad because I went out for Mexican food with some friends tonight). So I guess I need to work on that.
and Hi Valerie! It sounds like you and I have really close current weights and goal weights. I know that sometimes losing 15-20 more lbs can seem like a lot, but you're more than half-way there!
Congratulations to everyone on your weight loss this week. From 0.5 pounds to 4 pounds lost... no matter what the number is all that matter is a loss is a loss!!! Good luck in improving the things you need to work on this week, and keep up the AWESOME work! You are all inspirations to me.
Smiles21- So glad you're back! Way to stay motivated, and good job for hopping right back in!
Valerieeee- Welcome to CC and to this forum! There are so many UNHEALTHY ways to lose the weight. We are all familiar with them, because we've all tried it with unsatisfying results. But congratulations for choosing to do your body a favor and get healthy! The last 20 pounds will be hard, but counting calories and exercising is the only way to lose the weight. Even if it comes off slow, you're still working towards your goal the healthy way! We're all here for you!
Well, I'm off to my weekend of indulgent junk food and alcohol. I am prepared with healthy snacks and plan to be very good. I really want to stick to this, so wish me luck!
Have a wonderful weekend, and keep up the great work everyone! This is NO easy thing we're doing, but remember, no food tastes as good as being healthy feels!
<3 Lauren

I've lost 40 lbs up to date (on a different site which also promotes healthy living) and to tell you the truth the last 5 are horrible compared to the last 20 lol Granted, I always "manage" to stay at months-long plateaus and then, suddenly, drop 3-5 lbs and then stay there again...
I was stuck at 127-129 lbs from July 2007 until end-of-Sept 2008 and right now I weigh 123-124 lbs and actually stay here for the past week!
If you need any help, ask away. I'm not perfect but I do my best!:)
cricketro05, Our bodies must be about the same, weigh loss wise. I do the same thing. I can be stuck for months on end at one weight then all of a sudden, bam, there goes 5 pounds almost overnight. I have been stuck where I am for months now so I am hopeing that the scale will start to move soon. I only have 5-7 pounds to go so hopefully this will be the last time I will have to go through this. But yes, these last 5 pounds are horrible. I will not give up. I will prove to myself that I can fight through anything in my life. This is who I am now, a fighter not a quiter!! That is what we all are. We have come so far already, we just need to fight for it.
I'm sure that all bodies do the same around their "perfect" weight. It is hard to "tell" your body that you are not "pleased" wt just "Average" and "normal" (top normal weight for me is 136 lbs and I'm at 123-124 lbs).
But I finally see some muscles and no fat on the abs, which is just perfect. I am really pleased. However, i still want to get to 115-120 lbs so that I can easily maintain around 118 lbs or so.
6-8 lbs to go >_
112-113 to 105! commme onnn (I'm short and asian, standards a lil different over there though... sigh they were saying 47-49 was fat (that's about 105-109 lbs))
whatever I'll be probably pleased with 105. If I get there I guess I might as keep going but i love food too much
I lost 40 lbs :)
hey girls! im so happy the weekend is over....its always screwing me up!! i always get to 150 and then mess it up! grrr i jsut want to see those 40s! i ate very good today. I started doing weights...i have this sudden urge to tone my arms =] i plan on going to the gym the next 3 days and working my ass off! I just got a job at my gym and im so excited! its giving me so much motivation! im hoping to be 140 on my birthday (nov 12th) its going to be a hard 2lbs a week but im planning on going to the gym 5 or 6 days a week now. i really wanna get my body back....good luck tomorrow! think thin everyone!
halfawake- congrats on being 146! thats great! i cant waitt get back to 146. ive been stuck between 150 & 153 for foreverrrr. i hit a plateau so now im chaning my calorie intake everyday to trick my metabolism...hopefully i can be in the 40s soon! 20 more to goooo!
theluckiest- hehe your post was so sweet! thanks for welcoming me. i agree with you.. All weight loss is great no matter what number! i hope you did how you planned over the weekend =]
cricketro- 40lbs! niceee job thats so awesome! i did that once then gained all it back....now im almost done losing it all just 15-20 more lbs. i had my fare share of plateaus....ive been at one all summer but now i started zigzagging my calories everyday and its working for me =]

i've been at 127-129 lbs for a year so i know all abt plateaus lol at the same time, my body got used to a low weight so this really helps not gaining back. we are talking abt having a baby before i turn 30 (i'm turning 28 this Dec) so i'd better make sure to stay at a healthy weight :D:)
