Welcome to April!

Anyone who would like to join the challenge here are the guidelines.

* 2 points each for every 8 ounces of water. Plain or bottle (No flavors)

* 3 points for each 15 minutes of workout time. This is structured workouts and there are no points for anything other than 15 minute intervals.

* 1 point if challenge (physical or positive) is completed

* 1 point if you suggest a challenge

* 1 point for every fruit/veggie you eat each day
The goal is to have at least 5 servings of fruits/veggies per day =)

* Send your weight in when you begin the challenge and then again on the last day of the challenge (April 30 or May 1). You get
1 point for each pound lost. This is a cumulative assessment, so dont worry about weight fluctuations during the month - you only need to weigh in on the first and last day of the challenge.

Person with the most points wins.

Note: You may suggest a physical or personal challenge at any time. Challenges can be completed at any time during the month as many times per month as you like. Don't forget to add the time you spend doing the physical challenges to your overall exercise time. Challenges can be completed once each day. 1 point for each challenge completed (not for each repetition of physical challenges)

PM all information to me. You do not need to post it on the thread. The thread is for Challenges, encouragement, and general chit-chat.

Important:
send your information in the following format:
3x 8 oz of water
45 minutes of treadmill
completed side bend challenge
5 fruits/veg (apple, carrot, celery, spinach, blueberries)

Please send your information daily or every other day. If you go out of town please send info when you return broken down by dates.

I'm going to do my best to update points every day, but I usually take the weekends off and update the points Sunday night or Monday mornings.

Hi Guys!!

I am in for April. I still have a few more pounds to go around 4 or so.

I would also like suggest the first challenge this month:

YARD WORK - We all love Spring and spending more time outside but the yard work is NOT always fun.  I love my yard looking nice so we do the weeding and things like that as a family every Saturday morning.

I am not sure this will work as a challenge but I thought I would suggest itSmile and maybe give us all a little motivation to get the yard back in shape!

And if you don't have a yard, take a walk around a local park with a trash bag and (carefully - some of the refuse can be a bit dangerous) pick up the litter!

I am in!  I really want to make April count and so I am joining as many challenge-y things I can for extra motivation.

Start weight is 279.

Do I just edit this same post everyday for points?  or do a whole new post everyday?

I've joined the exercise challenge and a weekly weigh in.
I was hoping having a weekly weigh in challenge would keep me motivated on weight loss more.

I would love to join for April.  I promise to be more consistant than I was in March.  I had a really bad month!  I still have 66 lbs to go.

I would like to suggest a challenge:  me time.

Spend at least 20 minutes doing something for "me" such as reading a book or magazine, doing a craft or hobby, taking a bubble bath, or just something enjoyable for "me".

We all know the mental health is important for making a successful run at this.

Oooo, I love the me time challenge!

I'm in... I ditched the last few days of March due to the overwhelming number of dinners out I was eating and birthdays being celebrated. Like my husband's tonight --- nothing like red velvet cake after eating out to throw a girl off.

Challenge Suggestions:

Workout Buddy -- Get someone else to go it with you -- either to the gym, a walk, etc.

 House Work -- this is the same as yard work but for those of us who dwell in apartments and have spent the entire winter stacking crap into mini-piles throughout the humble abode. Or is that just me? 15 minute requirement.

Crunches 10x

Arm Exercise 10x -- any exercise

Also -- any thoughts to the daily article challenge that I threw out there last month?

Hi everyone! I've been away on holiday for 3 weeks and have gained 5 lbs plus the extra 5 still left over from Christmas so I definitely need this challenge to get back on track.

Thanks spacedreamer for keeping points and organising. I'll pm my start weight later today :)

A few things have changed since I've done slimming minis, most notably the points for fruit and veg. Hooray for that, I'm shooting for 6 serves a day.

I'm in for April.  Start weight 186!  Woo-hoo - let's go!

Suggestion - leg lifts (25 with each leg)! 

I'm in again. This challenge always keeps me going.

Spacedreamer, just use the starting weight I sent you with my March end weight. Thanks

Oh, I would love to join. I have about 25 lbs to hit my goal weight and this sounds like a good motivational tool to help me in my life style change.

Hi all!! Im pretty new to the whole challenge thing but would love to join for motivation. Ive started dieting on January 1st and had lost 10lbs in 1month but kind of fell off. Now Im trying to get back on track so that I can lose about 15-20 more pounds by July for my wedding and honeymoon. Good luck to everyone!
