Around 5'7 girls, size 6 US what are your measurements/ weight?

Hi, I am a NZ size 10 and want to buy a pair of Levis from the US, but have no idea if the size calculations are correct. Apparently this converts to a US size 6, but have seen heaps of posts of girls at heavier weights wearing smaller sizes. Guess it depends on the brand too. I have heard Levis are pretty true to size. I don't want them too tight as I have love handles, but don't want them saggy and falling off me either. When I was this weight back in 1992 I fit a US size 8 levis, but they were high waisted, so think I would be a size 6 in the jeans I am after as they are more midwaist (just below the navel) with 1% spandex stretch.

My stats are: 37-28-36 yep I'm sooo an apple. Boobs and small arse, but still consider myself quite hippy as long in the hips and high-waisted. I have taken measurements of where the jeans would sit and came up with 32, so is this a 6 misses or 7JR? I do have a pair of 9JR no stretch jeans that are now falling off me? What do others think?

I'm 5'7", but a different shape.  I have larger hips and rear and am smaller thru the middle.  I weigh around 145 (trying to drop those pesky extra 6) and can squeeze into a four - a six feel comfortable as long as I don't over eat at a meal and an 8 is loose (all miss sizes).  Junior sizes just don't fit on me well due to my hips - childbirth changed that forever.

Buying jeans without trying them on is something I would personally never do because each brand fits me so differently.  For example - Sonoma, a size 8 is almost falling off of me and a six is a little (not to much though) snug.  In another brand a six fits well...and it yet another brand I wear a size 10.

Good luck

I am a nz 8 and US 4 so i would say that's about right...but just jeans sells levi's and they're easy to find here, why go through all the risk of buying online?

Hey thanks for your replies! Unless someone tells me I'm dreaming about fitting 6's over my larger than I'd like midsection even though they would easily fit my hips, this is probably what I will end up going with!

Joanne, I can buy two pairs of levis from the US for the price of one pair here in NZ and I prefer the US ones to the NZ ones as I have found them to be quite different jeans texture and colourwise etc. They are actually manufactured by different companies (US levis made in mexico or sometimes pakistan, NZ ones made in phillipines) so maybe this has something to do with it. I actually don't really give a hoot about the Levi brand and prefer to buy jeans that just look good regardless of price tag - preferably the lower price however! So I totally agree, I would also prefer to try them on to know if that look good with my weird apple shape...absolutely!

I just figured that as I am going to buy hubby a couple of original Levi 501's (his one and only prefered jean) from a US site (around $55NZ when they are $140 at hallensteins or Just Jeans - so yeah two for the price of one here!) I might as well throw in a pair for myself as it won't make much difference to postage and nil on Customs charges. It looks like I will go for either 6's or 7jrs and if they don't fit, I can either give them away to someone smaller or sell them on Trade Me Smile

And to add....grrrrr hate that it is so easy for guys to know what size pant/jean will fit them. Like with hubby...his waist measurement may only change an inch here or there, so he can just grab his best fitting old current jeans and say "'33 waist and '34 leg, yep that's my size". Me on the other hand, get out all my current jeans of different stretch and measure the waistband, rise, hips and then compare this to the sizing charts for the brand online (which don't by the way give you the measurement for where the jeans actually sit - which you would think would be the most useful measurement to give. Grrrrrr again! And here I am still not convinced I have the right size because of my near straight up and down shape! Maybe I should just go the baggy mens boyfriend style jean  or buy some shoes...lol

ah i understand! i'm always worried about buying from overseas now since my last experience had me pinged by customs and paying an extra $70! :(
