Challenge Yourself

Okay, so we have talked about the journals. We all know I LOVE the journals. My primary source of support and motivation comes from my friends. But, sometimes, I need more. I need to challenge myself.

See, when we start this journey most of us have something particular that we know we want to improve upon. Is diet soda your demon? Do you drink so little water that you count the pot of coffee towards your daily intake? What about veggies? Do you eat enough? NO, chocolate does NOT count, by the way :) Or maybe it's exercise. Are you looking to start working out in some form or fashion, but just need motivation?

See, that's where the Games and Challenges Forum comes in. If there is something you are looking to improve upon, odds are, there are others who are looking to do the same. Go find them! Meet them and work together to encourage and motivate each other to improve upon those areas that you are lacking in. I am a fan of the exercise challenge. I never worked out until I joined CC and when I found that challenge it was just what I needed. Every day, as I do my Turbo Jam I am increasing my monthly minutes. It's SO inspiring to see the number go up. It's not a contest. I am not trying to out do the person below me. I am trying to outdo MYSELF.

So, if you are looking for motivation in getting those 64 oz of water every day, go visit the Water Challenge. You can start slow and work your way up to bonafide "fish" level. If you are ready to add a little more activity to your day, come and join the Exercise Challenge. It grows every month, as new challengers are always finding their way to it, and bringing others along to get into the action.

And, there are challenges that you might not have ever thought to look for. Slappy will show you how to dedicate 10 minutes of your day to your ABS if you visit her at the Ab Challenge. Oh, but how about a way to get your spouse involved? We all want our family to support us in our efforts, right? And what is a more bonding way than for our spouses to feel like they are personally invested in us reaching the goals we set for ourselves? In August, there was a challenge meant specifically to just that. And finally, if you don't find something that suits your interest, CREATE it. There are always new ideas for challenges. Things that are important to you could be important to others and a platform just needs to be created.

It goes back to what I have been saying. Motivation and accountability. If you strive for success, you will achieve it. It doesn't matter if you meet your goal. If you move one step closer to it today than you were yesterday, that is success. And, when you are among others doing the same, the motivation is incredible. I say, we put our thinking caps on and see what new and exciting challenges we can come up with for October! Until then.... it's time to go and add some minutes to my exercise ticker!
