Nutrition Focus: Fuel your body
Many of us struggle with our eating on a regular basis, trying to make good decisions and healthy choices.
It's often hard to do that because, to us, eating is one of life's pleasures. Many of us feel that, if we don't get to eat the 'good' stuff (like burgers and fries and ice cream), life just won't be the same. Today, I want you to look at your meals with a different perspective--food is not just for pleasure, it's fuel for our bodies. What you eat has a direct effect on how your body feels and how your workouts go. Take a moment today to gain a deeper appreciation of food--not just for its taste, but for what it does for your body.
Motivation
Contuining with our theme of the benefits of exercise, today I want you to see if you can change your perspective about your workout. Do you think of your workout as a duty? An obligation? Just another thing you HAVE to do? If so, I want you to decide to look forward to your workout. Take a moment to look at your assignment for the day--take yourself through the workout you're going to do. Imagine your heart speeding up, your muscles growing warm, the blood coursing through your body. Imagine how it will feel to stretch out those legs--how strong they'll feel as they propel you forward. Picture the positive and, just for today, get excited about your workout.
