Asics Lovers

I've always run in Asics Nimbus and always LOVED them....I always have raved about them to anyone who runs and would listen.

BUUUUUT my past two pairs have been....well....different somehow.  They don't seem to be the same as all the other pairs I've had over the years.  They kind of suck actually.  And now I'm thinking about going with something else.  It kind of feels like I've lost a good friend : (

Has anyone else had this experience with the last two models of the Asics Nimbus. 

They change their models every year like cars. I'm really not sure why but they do. I never wear the Nimbus, I'm more of a Gel gal and haven't had that issue. If you look around online, a lot of places sell older models for cheap! Eastbay comes to mind; I got an older (but still brand new) version of my darling Asics. Just search around online for the model you like

As usual, spirochete is right on the money here. My first pair of running shoes was the Asics Gel Nimbus 9--I loved them. But I couldn't deal with the subsequent models. If you want to stick with the same model that you're used to, definitely look online--I'm pretty sure your preferred model is still out there.

i bought two different new ones, not as good as the ones i bought in "05. sigh...

Off I run to search for the old ones - I had no idea I could do that.

EDIT: I was wrong -  I haved loved Asics since the VIII's not the 9's...so unless I wear a size 11D or 12 I'm out of luck and will be onthe search for a new brand I guess.

When I find a shoe I like, I will buy extra pairs because of the whole model-changing thing. I've "lost" more good shoes by not doing that! And what goes around, comes around; by the time I'm looking again, a "new" model like the old one is often back on the market.

But yeah, buying discontinued models on line does make it easier than "back in the day" when there was no online market!!
