I am really discouraged! I weigh myself everyday and whenever I see a loss, I get back on the scale the next morning and I'm 1 1/2 to 2 lbs heavier!!!! I am VERY strict about my exercise and very tedious with counting my calories. I'm only taking in 1850 calories per day and I exercise for 30 minutes 4-5 days per week. I'm currently 250 lbs (down from 272).
Answer
Weight fluctuations are usually due to water retained after a salty meal or for womens' hormonal cycles. Water retention may also occur after a high carbohydrate meal and weight may come from held fecal matter. If you want to check your weight everyday, then control for error. Weigh yourself upon arising, after emptying your bladder, while wearing light or no clothing. Record your weight on the Calorie Count tracker and use the tracker to assess your true weight change because the tracker smooths out daily variations. If you can’t deal with unexplainable fluctuations, then you should not weigh yourself everyday. Rely on other markers of weight change success, like measurements of your waist circumference and percent body fat.
