I'm looking for meal plans. What do I do next?
Asked by georginaclarke on Jun 12, 2008 in Weight Loss

I just joined Calorie Count and I am looking for meal plan suggestions and recipes to download. Do you have any suggestions? What do I do next?

Answer

You can follow any meal plan and still count calories. Counting calories empowers you in a way that meal plans don’t.  It makes you examine what you eat and how much you move, and then you make a conscious effort to develop new habits.

Start by logging the foods you usually eat - without making changes.  Look for particular foods that contribute a surprising number of calories.  Think about ways that you can substitute, eliminate, or alter those foods, while you keep food logs. And then, go to My Pyramid to see how many food groups servings you need. Tweak you diet to make it more healthy. Eventually, your food logs will become your personalized set of menus.  For recipes on Calorie Count, go to the Food section on the Home page.
