How can an overweight teen lose weight?
Asked by anonymous on Jul 01, 2008 in Weight Loss

I’m only 14 and I’m severely overweight.  I hate it.  I don’t eat many bad things, I just eat too much. I want to be skinny so badly. I’ve always dieted but its turned yo-yo. Is there an easy, subtle, quick diet I could follow? I really need help.

Answer

Be patient because weight loss takes awhile.  You and your parents should read Weight Loss Confidential: How Teens Lose Weight and Keep It Off – and What They Wish Their Parents Knew by Anne M. Fletcher. Ms. Fletcher writes about 100 teens who have lost weight and kept it off.  Use Calorie Count to find your requirements, log your food, and track your weight.  Visit MyPyramid to learn about balanced diets.  Find an activity you like enough to do everyday.  For support, rely on the Young Calorie Counters Forum in the Community section at Calorie Count.
