Will a plateau end on its own eventually?

I have read many strategies for breaking a plateau.... It seems I don't have many options left, as I am already doing most of them (drinking lots of water and getting lots of fibre, journaling all calories, cycling calories, upping exercise, doing a re-feed, everything but being patient- lol). What I am wondering is, should I continue trying different, more drastic strategies, or will the plateau break on it's own? FYI, I am 272 lbs and have lost 45 lbs since January with an average weight loss of 1.9 lbs per week and and average calorie intake of 1750 per day.
Answer
It is not unusual to reach a plateau after an initial dramatic weight loss. Your calorie intake seems to be on target and the changes you have already made make sense. Your best bet now is to add resistance training to your exercise routine to increase your calorie-burning lean body mass. Make the most of your aerobic exercise by wearing a heart rate monitor, and exercise twice a day in 30 minute intervals before breakfast and dinner. Time your meals to eat as soon as possible after you exercise, and get as much spontaneous movement as you can by taking the stairs and walking short distances all of the time.
