Who ate too much on Labor Day Weekend?
Okay, so I know that many enagage in overeating during the holidays but just how much did you eat:
Sunday I ate:
1/2 cup sheperds pie
1/4 cup baked beans
1 Bojangles chicken leg
1/4 cup boiled potatoes
1 sup salad w/ homeade ranch dressing
1 piece strawberry cake
1 bowl peach cobbler
1 cabbage roll
1 cajun fry
That is how much I ate on Sunday..............Holy crap!!!! So tell me, how about you?
Hey, it was labor day and you were enjoying a good time with your friends and family. Just get back on track this week. I wouldn't even weigh myself until about Friday and by then any extra pounds will have disappeared plus maybe a half pound more. So now you are down one half pound and just look at it as a week I did not lose as much as I did last week. But remember that every week end can not be another labor day. Making it though the weekend and staying on your diet is the single most challenge we all face each week. And if you do stick with it on the weekend and you weigh on Monday you feel like a champion.
I did !
But it's ok.
As long as I do well this week, Im not going to be hard on myself.
I had some waffles and yogurt for breakfast...not bad, but I had a huge burrito for lunch (at a place like chipotle. I just had this little protein drink (170 cals) for dinner, so it was pretty much a maintenance day. Sunday was worse though, 3 slices of a meat lovers pizza, half a cheeseburger, fries and a 800 cal-ish breakfast. I felt pretty gross. The day b4 that was cheeseburger and fries, some candy, etc. haven't had this much naughty stuff in a few months.
But whatever...its behind me now. (literally)
I actually didn't do too bad only things extra was cake and ice cream, and a kids pack at the movie theater. But I ran my 10K yesterday so maybe that will make up for it.
I ate/drank at maintenance on Sunday. Ate a lot more than usual but still broke even. So I wouldn't say "too much".
I definitely overdid (one word?) it this past weekend. My calories looked like:
Friday - 2,667
Saturday - 2,455
Sunday - 1,547
Monday - 2,466
I normally eat 1,600-1,700/day so it was quite a spluge for me but seeing as my Lightly Active BMR is about 2,700, I don't think it will hurt me (except for all the temporary gain due to sodium) but I don't think I'll lose as much as I normally would this week. Oh well, that's what holidays are for! If you can't enjoy life, why do you even bother?!
Where to begin??? lets see Friday I played hooky from work, and went to Baja Fresh I started with the Mahi Mahi Taco, and finished with the shrimp taco (fried) and the black beans! then we went to the California State Fair...and I had a FRIED OREO!! (making sure the kids and hubby get a bite or three so I woudln't feel too bad by eating like 4 of them) oh god, I havent cheated in over a month and I just wanted to go for it this night, prior to that I had a chicken kabob, and the chicken pieces we're like the sizes of a golf ball and a half just big and meaty. Ok then I had a bite of my husbands fried twinkie! uuugh! and then we shared a corn dog. Saturday a turkey burger w/the works all the fat Kraft Cheese Slice, mayo, lettuce, tomatoe, bun. Last night I made lumpia with bay shrimp and ground pork, shitake mushrooms, celery, onion, garlic, bean sprouts, carrots the works, all that is stuffed in a wonton rap and then lovely deep fried. Just a side note, my husband made a macaroni salad with crab, and shirmp and black olives and the vegtables, and mayo. I was turned down for Gastric Bypass as well as the Lap Band on Wednesday, and so I felt a little discourged and I figured that this holiday was going to be my revenge. Im back today, and though I ate the whole world over the weekend i didn't forget to exercise, and im not going to forget now, Im just going to pick myself up and dust myself off, (those are mostly food crumbs) and get right back in the saddle.
miamyamoe,
sorry to hear that you got turned down for the surgery, but I definitely believe you can still do it.
There are many people on here who have lost significant weight, without a pill, surgery or extreme diet. I am not sure about your history with weight loss, health or whatever, so I am not going to preach to you.
The whole revenge through overeating will definitely hinder progress emotionally though, as does rewarding ourselves with food or not working out, etc. For me, tackling those types of issues was very important, and I am just as happy about being happier with myself as I am about losing weight.
I hope that a year form now, you will see getting turned down as a blessing in disguise, becuase weight loss really can be a wonderful journey, even when it is very difficult.
Best wishes- and I hope your next reward will be a smaller dress or pair of pants ![]()
I definitely overate....
Coming home for Labor Day weekend and having access to all the crappy food my family buys that I would never buy for myself put me over the edge! I ate nearly 3000 calories Saturday which is twice as many as I typically eat! Sunday I ate about 1450 but a lot of that food was from a Dodger game so it wasn't exactly nutritionally pleasing. And yesterday I ate so much i literally laid on the couch for two hours in pain because my stomach hurt so badly... The weird thing was I only ate 2,200 calories which is just a little over maintenance for me and the only thing I can think of that I ate so much of was tortilla chips and even then I tried overestimating the amount because I didn't measure but I don't really believe I had as much to eat as I logged.... Well today I'm back on track and Sunday/Monday I burned 700 calories each day at the gym so I think I'm alright.
Don't weigh yourself until at least Friday and if we're all back on track this week (I know I don't want to feel that gross again EVER) all the extra weight will go away :)
I ate too much but not a completely crazy amount.
It was also my birthday weekend. Mmmhmm. Double whammy. I did some exercise each day... but I did see a 2lb increase. A day or two or normalcy should reverse that water (I hope) weight.
I ate a huge amount, and according to CC it was only 1600 cals a day, average, but I think I was under-reporting or something. I had like, 6 (light) beers, 3 carne asada tacos (home made) on corn tortillas, and a whole boatload of grilled chicken, some bratwurst, and a bit of beef on Monday. I also had Eggs Benedict on Sunday morning, and breaded Chicken Paillard on Sat night. I ended up walking 12 miles a day on average, though. I guess it evened out, 'cause I lost a lb. I was expecting to maintain or even gain a bit, due to to water weight/alcohol/sodium.
I did as well, Sunday was :steamers, grilled marinated portabella, cheese, squash casserole, salad, cookies, and a brownie...not sure the cal count...I wasn't sure what was in all the food
Monday I had: apples, bean salad, tuna macaroni salad, apple cider doughnut, a few bites of blueberry pie, veggie burger, potato salad
Little weight gain, and easy enough to be good this week
I probably had 3000 calories each on Sunday and Monday. I didn't exercise on either of these days, and amazingly enough, weighed less this morning! I'll take it.
I actually weighed this morning and I didn't gain a pound.....Thank God. I did swim saturday for about an hour so that may have helped create a calorie deficit of some sort.......?
I WAY over ate over the holiday weekend...I didn't keep track because I didn't want to know...let's just say I weighed on Friday and weighed again on Tuesday and gained 8 pounds....granted I am sure there was some water weight added on, but still a little ridiculous on my part. I guess I have to do that every now and again to reward myself for the 45 pound loss since my daughter was born two years ago. I will do better this week...PROMISE :)

Yeah my diet went down the tubes. My meal and the next-day leftovers brought me over 6,500 calories in two days (and my maintenance is only 1400 or so!! Oops!)

Nope, I didn't. :)
I did pretty good..except picnic/grilled at a park.. had a hamburger and about 8 bites of potato salad and 15 stawberries... three bites hotdog no bun..
First hamburger I had ate in 3 weeks!
Scaled today at -4 ounces over the 4 day weekend.. didnt excersize at all for 5 days. back on track today.. did stair stepping and yoga for 45 minutes. Down 12 pounds exactly 3 weeks from day one.
Good luck all!
Usually I do 4500 cals on workout days and 3500 on non workout days. This is my maintenance range. But since I had no cheat days in over a year, on labor day I did it up and according to the count I consumed 14, 341 cals. Yummy day! No worries, ain't gonna gain from just one day.
Holy crumbs, blue-eyed-dragon! I'm so jealous.
