what i ate after a long bike ride today
i went for a long bike ride today. didnt have time to lift weights. i know your suppose to eat carbs n proteinafter workout but i was really hungry and didnt eat much cept quinoa and veggies all day so this is what i ate after long bike ride
banana w/ very lil maple syrup
then AMYS bean n cheese burrito with a lil avacado and tomatos
then a soy chocolate protein shake (Whole foods brand) powder mixed with with a SO Delicious Coconut Milk raspberry yogurt a lil OJ and frozen blueberries, stevia, and some raisins.
All my dinner in 1 sitting
Is this okay? i know its a lotta food but i was hungry.
How long is "long?"
After a very hard bike ride (e.g., hills or power intervals until I can barely get up the stairs into the house) or a very long ride (4 hours or more), I'll usually have a large (3 cups) glass of milk with a scoop of chocolate protein powder before hitting the shower, and most of a bbq chicken pizza a little bit later.
Yeah, that's probably not ideal, but I have protein and carbs in there, and it keeps me from eating the furniture.
ok for what? My opinion on this whole recovery stuff, is unless you ant to squeese that last bit of performance from you training just eating enough/normally is good enough. As long as you didn't over eat for the day, sounds ok. *shrug
