So, I do volleyball, swim, and run (constantly!) and i eat about 1,800 calories per day! The majority of the calories comes from protein though!

I eat a lot of chicken, edamame, turkey, tofu, veggie patties, and more!

So good! :)

Wow, most of you eat like, nothing.

I'm 16 and train for triathlons and swim competitions. I'll work out 2-3 hours a day, 6 days a week and consume anywhere from 2300-3000 calories. (depends what I do that day)

^angel_21... if you continue eating 900 a day... you will end up in the hospital..

i'm a cross country runner and eat a ton. i run about 25 miles a week and.. well i dont really count calories, but i eat A TON. probably 3000 a day to maintain

im also at a healthy weight, according to child's BMI chart

5'8, 120 lbs, 14 yrs old

I don't trust those child BMI charts. they tell me I would have to weight 95 lbs to be even AT RISK for being underweight. If I got under 100, I would probably be put in the hospital or at least very seriously monitored.

I'm a gymnast, 12 - 18 hrs of training each week. On non-training days I eat about 1300-1500, and on training days I eat about 1600 - 1800.

'Ello! I'm almost 17 years old, 5'4 (and a half ;)), and I weigh 145 pounds. I'm also a girl...but that should be pretty evident from my profile picture. :)

I bike for 15 miles a day on average, jog 5 miles per day on average, and do yoga or weight lifting for 30 minutes every other day. I also have a reasonably active job. I need about 3000 calories per day to maintain (though I'm eating less than that right now in an attempt to rid myself of some recent unexplained weight gain). I take a rest day each week in order to allow my muscles to repair and relax, but I also bike and jog for longer lengths once or twice a week, thus the averages above.

No athlete should consume under 2000 calories. Period. Even if you're looking to lose weight, your activity level is too high to dip that low and you can cause severe damage to your body and your sports performance by drastically under eating.

I play basketball and do spring workouts every weekday. I eat about 2200 cals a day also. I keep gaining weight, but i think its mostly muscle.
