I was reading some posts and seen that  you have some great exercises.. I was wondering if you give some for my abs, arms, thighs and butt.. I went to the gym the other day and wanted to some but just stood there because I had no idea what to do..

Thanks

as far as working out at the gym Im not much help, I work out at home.  If you have access to an exercise ball, they are awesome for everything!  Let me know if you are interested in some at home stuff and I will post some for you.
mommy123...I am a regular "gym" goer.  I could probably help out.  Depends on what type of equipment is there at your gym.  Is there a trainer too?  Perhaps that may be the best solution.
Thanks for the replys..

Slappy I would love to have some of the ones I can do at home..Also there are balls at the gym because I had no idea what to do with so I tried doing crunches and fell off.. It was embarrassing..

Neeners there is alot of equipment there... Cardio machines and lots of shape ups, lol (I have no idea what you call them)

Any ideas would be greatly appreciated..

Thanks again
If you want to work out on the weight equipment there, I would attempt to find a trainer.  Most gyms have someone who can show you how to use the equipment (so you don't hurt yourself) and it's free.  I'd check.  Even my local YMCA offers that.

I would try crunches without the ball first, so you know what you're doing.  To do a crunch that won't stress your back, you should remember that when you lie on the floor with your knees bent, do not attempt to reach your knees with your elbows or your chin.  That is a mis-knomer.  You need to think as if someone has the end of your nose tied to a string and they are picking you straight up.  When you think of moving straight up instead of toward your knees, you will engage your abs and not your back or neck.  Press your lower spine into the floor as you attempt to raise your entire upper body toward the ceiling.  That's a crunch that will work your abs without killing your other muscles.  When you add the ball, you're adding a bit of balance with it.  So, work on the crunches without the added stress for now.  I still don't use a ball (although they are great) because I want to make sure I am doing correct crunches.

Good luck...and find a trainer to show you the equipment at the gym.  You'll appreciate it much more!
I agree with neeners - there are some really great staff people at most gyms, even my community college gym, and they really helped me in learning how to do the exercises correctly and how to use the machines.

Great tip about crunches too, neeners! I have never been able to do them right even with a trainer showing me how but the string metaphor made it a lot easier to understand how to hold my neck. Thanks!
