Attention Christians - please give me your thoughts

We were discussing the 'other' books written but that were not included in the Bible. HUNDREDS of them.. all authenticated by being from the same time period.  Why are these ignored by Christians?  I would have thought that Christians would have been flocking to read them and include them in the 'big book'.  Is it because some contradict what the current book says? Is it because Mary's book insinuated that there was more between her and Jesus?

When I was a Christian and I found out about this I remembered being very excited and wanting to read them!  But no one else did.. it was hush hush and disregarded... part of the reason for my spiraling decent (or incline!) to Athiesm.

Anyway, I'd love to hear your thoughts!

By the way, I read once that a certain bone that was supposedly carbon dated as being a million years old or so was later found to be a modern bone from a pig that died something like 20 years ago. I think many things that scientists see as facts, will be someday be exposed. It is actually all kind of fun to watch it happen.

how about this..... do good because it is intrinsically in you to do good.... because it feels good... not because it will bring you closer to god, Ala or buy you a golden ticket into the pearly gates..... moreover isn't this like the biggest manipulation.... to live righteous as a bargain to get into the good graces of an unknown figure.... isn't this more evil then any evil speakable...

there is currently a human skull dated to almost 2 million years old.

 Back to my first comment about the bible being chosen from a large group of books by a council at the vatican in the 13C.   All Men,   Look at history, men have suppressed women for centuries....so thats the document you have.  Jesus had lots of women followers, who else was going to make the meals for Jesus and the twelve??  

 The Bible was created in 325 AD at the Nicene council. What you're talking about in the 13th century is something else.

And the fact that men suppressed women for centuries before and after Christ and that the Bible suppresses women as well means you believe your god suppresses women and that the suppression is divinely inspired.

 you may be assuming that I think Men have the brain capacity to keep their minds on creating and channeling the holy spirit in order to write a book in the gospel.  The truth is that they were under constant carnal torment and their "other brain"  the small finger shaped one, took over.  This torment had the result of distraction, and women were punished because of course, THEY were at fault.....

you're going to have a long wait, kindlerenz.  hope you have plenty of cookies.  you don't seen to understand that science is becoming more and more accurate and precise while your book is becoming less and less relevant. 

maybe after we destroy the world (and all our technology and science with it) we can start fresh with a new collection of myths.  maybe this time women and gays will get to make the rules.

 There are some mistakes and even forgeries in all kinds of science. But to throw out all scientific data because of a few is ridiculous. Do you use electricity? Do you use indoor plumbing? Do you drive a car? Do you use a cell phone?

Why don't you discount all of the science and technology behind those things?

One reason that most of the versions of the Bible have a negative view of the bible is Original Sin. Adam and Eve and that stupid apple. I hope they both got the squirts! Idiots!!

Yes, and that's not going to change and I understand the reasons for it. I like the new BCE designation. The chart in that website is good for looking up the dates for when certain things have happened given our understanding and dating of time.
