Hi Guys,

I have worked out today. So far this week I have managed some type of work out. I started running two months ago. It is such a struggle. A friend of mine gave me a book called CHI Running. Has anyone heard of it? I am reading it know. It is suppost to help you correctly run without injury. I am from Northern Nevada. We have no snow, but temps in the teens. Yuck. I think I'd rather have snow.

This challenge sure makes me think on every day on what I will be doing and eating. Great idea.

How is everyone elses exercise going??
And I thought the temperatures were bad here! We haven't got much snow or ice this winter. Its actually been warm (like in the 50's). But now its getting cold again. Its like down in the thirties. We might even get snow in a few days. YAY!!! Anybody else getting snow?
Hi everyone - checking in for the day. I did 45 minutes of treadmill at 5% incline, and my 6 sets of abs.  I am really pround of my self that yesterday I stayed within my calorie budget, drank all my water,  did not eat after 7pm, and worked out - I accomplished all of my daily goals and feel really motivated for the weekend. (This is a definite improvement!!!)

I will be thinking of y'all in cold/snowy weather - we are suppposed to be in the mid 60's here in Atlanta. Hopefully, I will get to exercise outdoors this weekend. :)

I won't be online again till Monday....so I will post my exercise time then.  Good luck to everyone over the weekend!!!!!

How does "THE INCH WORMS" sound for a name? Guess I thought of this because I'm trying to lose inches. LOL
Hey everybody!  My name is Tonya.  I currently live in Upper Peninsula Michigan.  It is currently 10 degrees outside with a windchill of negative 5 which is normal for the winter up here.  It is snowing right now too.  We normally average 300 inches of snow a season.  We have long winters they last from September until early April and sometimes till the end of April.  I went to college in Indiana krledu so where part.  I have family around Indianapolis. 

I need to lose 80 pounds.  My background story is basically that I have severe asthma and am on prednisone a lot.  I was on high dosages for five years straight and gained until I was 294 pounds.  I am currently 216.4 as of today and started this website at 232 pounds.  I have been slowly losing and want to get down to 130 or 135 pounds to be healthy and to help with my asthma.

As far as team names, I kind of like the Reducers.


The Reducers! It sounds like a superhero name. I like it.

Hi wveryone.  Just checking in.  Right now I'm at 237.5 and want to get down to 200.  I know if I cut the crap food and eat right I'll lose because my job is fairly physical.  The problem has always been making it to the goal and staying there.  I like a weigh we go!  Lets go team 3!

Hi, I am in southeast Kansas and I am in the midst of the same yucky storm as Oklahoma.  I had to chisel 1 inch of ice off my windshield to get home from work.  And its suppposed to last for 3 more days?????

My exercise of choice is the treadmill in front of my tv.  I try to exercise with Dr Phill when I return from work.  My goal is at least 30 minutes 5 times a week.  (for now)
Hello again,

I just thought I would check in since it looks like others are saying what they did to work out this week.  I unfortunatley only worked out Monday due to having this nasty illness that has made me miss work almost all week.  Next week I intend to go back to my regimen of Step Aerobics M, W, F with cardio after and then cardio and weight training on T, Th, and some Sats!  Hopefully this works!  I lost a bunch of weight the first couple of months and now I am one pound this week, one pound the next.  I guess it is better then nothing.  Maybe switching up my activity?  Anyone have any suggestions?
Exercise for me is the challenge.  Im ok on calories eating on average 1400-1500 per day.  Less on non workout days and more on.  I just feel like my weight is going no where I lost like 4 lbs the first few weeks and now Im up one from then at 152.  Some days I want to SCREAM!!!!  Why does it have to take so long!!!

Ok , well although I am frusterated, I am commited to this program and have been doing very well with my diet.  Eating lots of veggies, fruits and whole grains. My exercise is as follows (adding in kickboxing, basic training and yoga next week:)

Agg!  I said I would do thirty minutes 5 times a week but it ain't working  (I meant to exercise last night and tonight and I will not be able to achieve that)!! Well, so far - but there is always a nice 3 day weekend where work does not compete.  I did a jog/fast walk last Saturday on thought I was on track but I have worked 54 hours this week at work (and my commute is 1.5 hrs one way).  Bad week to be making personal growth commitments -- but I have managed to be 2 pounds down from my Wednesday weigh in, so I am doing good consumption-wise.

I am doing a meetup this Sunday in DC (sorry mid-West, our weather this winter has been awesome!!) and Erik and Igor (the creators of this site) will be there.  It should be fun to meet them - as well as a lot of the regular, long-term posters to the forums who are coming.

Good Morning!
My power was on-and-off most of the day yesterday because of this storm. Thank goodness it on right now.
My main form of exercise was hauling firewood. I figured with all that bending, lifting and walking up and down my hilly yard, that this could be considered a pretty good form of exercise??? It took me about an hour to do this and I sure DID work up a sweat! Then of course I had to lift these logs into the house every time I needed to add one to the fireplace, so yep, that was my exercise for the day. I think I will be doing the same thing today and tomorrow too. 

Hmmm.... I wonder how many calories I am burning doing this. Anyone know?    
Hi everyone. I just got assigned to this team and i am sooooooo excited. My heaviest was 318 lbs about 5 years ago. i got down to about 260 and stayed around that weight for a long long time. but i decided i deserve better than that so i started changing my lifestyle in september and weighed 264 when i started. right now i am sitting at 228. and my goal weight right now is 180. 48 more lbs for me!! yeah!! i am hoping to lose at least 18 lbs while on this challenge. i gained a few lbs over christmas but am now back to my before christmas weight so what better time to start a challenge right. i welcome new friends and hope we can all support each other and be successful.

Exercise - its a lonely road. I was snuggled in my bed this morning (nice and cozy) and all I didn't want to do is meet the "girls" for a walk at 7:00 A.M and -4 degrees. My good self said "Lisa get out of bed this is a COMMITMENT, you know, so I says to myself yes thats right. My bad self said, peak out the window" so my bad self got out of cozy bed and peaked out the window and by god, there was ICE, THICK ICE, all over my car windows. So bad self says go back to bed, so I did. But good self said look at the clock it was 6:40 a.m. The battle waged for another 5 min. Good self finally won the battle. (Painful as it was)

Moral of the story - who is motivating YOU today.....

What is our team name?

We have a huge list of names so what do you want the name to be? My vote is on a Weigh We Go. I edited my post to list all names so what do you all think?

So can someone pretty please explain how this comp works exactly? I did not particpate in the last one as I was too late.

Do we go by what our whole team weighs and team losses? Or do we weigh in individually and whoever takes out the competition (wins) - does the team they are in win?

I currently weigh 169lbs.. I want to get to 143..that is my goal - but I need to know what time frame to work with for the comp so I can set a goal and start focusing on it.. please - I'm desperate :P
