im just looking to loose around 10-15 pounds or just 10kg! :P........tone my body and change the way i eat. i think its better if we do it in a group as its always better loosing weight with someone with the same goal in a positive environment.

Paige, I am notorious for eating when I'm bored. For the other emotions, I don't look to food, but when I find myself with nothing to do, I go straight for the kitchen. It sucks! Fortunately I've managed to stop that habit for the most part, but whenever I am not busy my brain is always telling me HEY YOU! THERE'S YUMMY FOOD! IN THE KITCHEN! GO!... and I have to just shut that voice up. Of course I don't always win over it, but I'm getting better. :)
Although I do hear you on the "eating when happy because you've lost weight" thing. It always seems like I'm doing amazingly in my loss and then suddenly I think I can eat more just because I haven't gained in a while. Ah, how silly our minds are to fall into those traps. xD

Thanks for the support! I've never had a problem exercising or anything.. it's just the emotional crap. But, I'm feeling pretty optimistic right now... I only have to get over this one thing... and I'll be free from this... food curse!

this last week i've slipped up as bad as a person could possibly slip up. Now im at 116, instead of my previous 113. but this new zig zag diet is working well so far!!

I go to school right around then as well as a college freshman. Oddly enough, though, I'm leaving very soon - I'm going on vacation and then never coming back home, just going straight to school from there!
It makes me sad that I'll have to say goodbye to all my friends in under a week! (I leave August 11)
ah i tottally forgot about the group : [ but yeah ive been up and down ,fluctuating between 105-108 after these past few days ive been eating like ****. im talking cookies, cheesecake, alfredo pasta, late night ice cream eating, everything! ugh, hopefully i get back on track by tomorrow!

believe me ct89, i know how you feel, but twice as bad...
My life is like... one never-ending series of parties right now. It's so difficult to stay strong, but I've managed to maintain a weight of about 109.8 for the past few days now... yay! I really would just like to see that 108 number, though!
My 18th birthday party is tomorrow - at least my mom knows that I'm trying to eat healthily though, so she's making me angelfood cake (really low cal) for my birthday cake. I'll still have to survive only taking one slice of pizza though, because that's what we're having for our main meal!
Don't worry if you slip up. Get back on track and pretend like it never happened. I know I'm going to give in soon, and the next day I just have to put on my running shoes and be extra-careful. At least overeating acts as somewhat of a motivator, right? :)
I don't know my official weight...I checked it like 8 months ago...so yeah :D. But I do know I would like to lose about 5lbs. I'm a shortie, and recently ive gotten a bit of a belly and my thighs could do with toning. oh and im sixteen.
Anyone here any ideas on what the helll to eat/exercise? My 'weight loss' exercise before would be running 30 mins 3x a week and then probably 45 mins on the bicycle on the days i don't run. I don't know if this is more or less than the norm...what is everyone else doing?

I was determined to lose weight this summer so I started up my gym routine strong. For about a month, perhaps a bit under, I would do 30 min on the treadmill, 30 min on the cross-trainer, and then every other day I'd do about 30 min of weights. That was 7x a week... probably a little too hard-core. I was eating well during that time, though - my BMR (1333) + the calories I expended at the gym, which was about 600 per workout. So most days I was eating around 1900 cal, sometimes a bit less.
Unfortunately, I found that during that whole time I lost a whopping 0.8 lbs. So... well, at least I know what my maintenance routine will be!
Now I'm being a bit lazier, to be honest. I still do weights every other day, but since I'm now eating around 1300-1400 cal a day, I'm not doing as much cardio... just a run around my neighborhood (~120 cal) or 100-200 cal on the treadmill. I really want to go back to working out like I did, but I really want to lose weight more, and recently it's been coming off!
When I go on my backpacking trip in a couple weeks, I'm sure my body will be happy. I may not lose weight, since I'll be eating whatever trail food my orientation group provides me, but I will be exercising all day long!
So I was thinking, running and cycling...it doesn't feel like I'm doing much exercise but I'm cycling around 45 mins most days of the week and maybe walking some more later. I haven't been running for a long time...but when I leave it i find it harder to get back into :(, so im thinking of starting up again.
Anyone else here in the same boat? Is 1400 cals a day with this amount of exercise suitable? I think my BMR is like 1300.

i have a terrible confession to make..... i seem to have developed some type of mild disorder: binging.... today is my first day clean. i wanna quit this binging thing NOW. its so scary. it makes you all depressed and gosh its just like being sucked into this hole of misery. i've never had this kind of problem before. hell, i've never had ANY kind of real "problem" before. my mom claims she's still "waiting for the other shoe to drop" hopefully it dont gotta drop. ever

im an athlete and participate in cross country, track, and basketball.
during the summer though i didnt do much physical activity, and i continued to eat the same amount. so of course i gained weight.
and now that school/ sports are starting i NEED to get back down.

Well, my goal has changed continuously as I kept realizing I had more to lose, but I think after 140 I should reach somewhere around 10% bodyfat and I'll be fairly satisfied with that.
So, I'll join in on this thread in hopes that I won't be needing to lose a few more at 140.
Weight loss used to be really easy, I just counted calories and it flew off, then the plateaus started.. now I lift 3 times a week to maintain muscle, do HIIT 3 times a week, and I'm at about 40% carbs most days (with 35-40% protein).. I never would have imagined before that I'd have to change my habits THIS much to inch off the pounds. I'll definitely be glad to finish off that weight loss and finally be "fit", not only physically, but mentally.
I'm so excited, I finally broke down and bought a whey protein supplement. i cant wait to try it :) :) it makes me wanna go do some lifting right now. lol
mann protein shakes definately seem to work lol i used to do 30 lbs of 2 arm bicep curls but now i do 40..... they taste bad tho. well, mine's better with milk.. iz not that bad i guess. it made me wanna throw up the first time i tried it x D
well, i haven't lost any pounds [still 126] but i look skinnier in the mirror these dayz so i'm good. i actually went from wearing 32 to 29 [men's size] so yea..
