Aug. 2009 - Prayers and Praises
Can you believe today is the last day of July?? Did it go by as fast for you as it did for me? All I can say is WOW - because many of us have faced some serious issues this month, but we have also seen our Lord work mightily in each of our lives.
Have you ever had times when you fell to ground in tears? You are not alone. Did you also know that those tears bring healing, as they are times spent at Jesus' feet? Here are a few things I learned this month while crying out to the Lord. If you are feeling distressed, I pray these same verses will lift you up as they have me.
Psalm 107:19-20 Then they cried out to the Lord in their trouble; He saved them out of their distress. He sent His Word and Healed them, and delivered them from their distress Psa 107:19
Psalm 34:17-18 Psa 34:17 cry out to the Lord
Psalm 6:6-7 Psa 6:6 your tears are precious to him
Psalm 56 Psa 56:1 He hears our cries
Isaiah 55:1-3 Isa 55:1 Come, it’s free!
Isaiah 42:6-9 Isa 42:6 He sets captives free
We also want to welcome our many new members and feel blessed that the Lord has led you to our little group. Hopefully you will find it unique on your journey to weight loss (or weight gain), but more importantly, I hope you find it a place to learn more how to incorporate the Lord and his word in every area of you life and find healing.
We welcome you to share your prayers and praises here so together we can lift each other up. From personal experience this past month, I can tell you that your prayers were felt. For we are called to "Rejoice with those who are rejoicing. Cry with those who are crying." Romans 12:15 and to "Bear one another's burdens, and thereby fulfill the law of Christ." Galations 6:2
Yes it was! I know you're talking about the time, but it was for me because of the great gift I received. Knowledge of my son's salvation! - I posted in my journal for those who want to read about it. So, now, I am praying that the Lord will save my oldest daughter, Julie (or bring her back to Him)
I'm also thankful for all I see God doing in lives here! and know he is still in the miracle business. We can make a new movie titled "Miracles on Calorie Count"!
I am praying the same prayer for my oldest son and my oldest daughter. She is about to get out of prison next month and come home. She was brought up in the church and Christian home, but strayed away, now since she has been in prison, she has drawn back to God, and it is my prayer it was not just a jailhouse conversion, but a sincere conversion back to him, as we went through this with my son as well, who also spent his time in prison and was also brought up in a home of God fearing parents. He found the Lord again inside but when he got out, he found the same friends that he was with to get in trouble, and now has stopped going to church altogether, but says he loves the Lord.
We both have to trust the Lord and His word, Train up a child the way he should go and when he is old he will not depart from it.

I can't remember if this is the right thread to use, but our family is in need of prayer. Dire need. My husband hasn't had a client in a couple of weeks, well one that payed something substantial. Our savings is gone and our bills are starting to lag behind. Please pray that God has some light at the end of our dark tunnel. Thank you.
Heavenly Father, I praise you Lord for your provisions, I praise you for your timing, I praise you for love for us. I praise you for your forgiveness and mercy and grace. Lord, thank you for hearing our prayers, Lord thank you for showing up, Lord no problem is too big for you. Help us Lord and increase our faith, help us to not fear, help us to trust you completely, help us to hear you whispers. In Jesus name I pray, Amen.
Praise God in the midst of your troubles and He will hear you. "Whoso offereth praise glorifieth me: and to him that ordereth his conversation aright will I shew the salvation of God" (Psalm 50:23).
I am so glad that we have one who always hears our cries. I just watched a T.V. show called Intervention. If you have never seen it before it is about people with addiction problems. Tonight was about two ladies, one with a eating disorder and another with a perscription drug issue, seeing this show always makes me cry. I just want to reach out and hug them and let them know how much God loves them and he will NEVER give up on us.
Also thank you Lorraine for that prayer, and thank you for being a blessing to us on CC.
I pray that the Lord will give us his strength, lead us closer to him and direct us in the ways we should go. I will also keep your daughter Julie in my prayers!

Update: I want to thank everyone for the prayers. Please keep them coming! My husband has a small job that will pay him enough to buy groceries and maybe pay a small bill. Praise God!
Important: He has a job interview this afternoon at 2 p.m. The first one since he was laid off in January! Please pray!

Today, I put in an application at one of the local banks for a Deposit Operations Specialist. I have 20 years experience in banking. I am confident that my skills and experience should allow for me to get this job.
Please pray for God's will in this situation. I desperately need a job (soon).
Also, I have a serious financial need by August 15th.

I don't pray very well, I am not as well verseed as many of you in this group. Just know that I am also thinking and praying for all.
Praise God for the financial support He has granted us over the last few days. It was enough to keep us going. Praise Him as well for the hope he has given us.
Please pray about my husband: There is a company that is negotiating hiring him. He will be scheduled for a physical this week. Please pray, especially about his health.
I am also asking for confirmation on something I believe God wants me to do.

Just wanted to pass this on to you...It is not how much you know that counts, it is what you do with what you know. God did not mean for you to be like everyone else in the group, he called you to be unique within yourself. As long as you are sincere in your prayers, God is pleased.
Just continue on in the Word of God and He will please words in your heart that you won't even know they are there until God sees the time to use them.
I thank God for your spirit of concern and love for reaching out. That in itself God is pleased.

Upholding Denna in prayer - unusual not hearing from her at all today.
Thank you greatly for your prayers.
I am feeling GOD's peace in this storm that I am in.
I have been busy today getting ready for school. After I did 4 loads of laundry, I had Glynn to try on the last three pairs of jeans that were bought for him (thanks mom and dad). He already had some that were 6slims that fit perfectly. Well, the last three pair are size 6/7. My son did not inherit his mother's waist line. So I had to add more elastic to the waist of his new pants.
Then we had to go to the open house at the school. We met with Glynn's and Breanna's teachers. I am trying to keep things as normal as possible for the kids. Trying to stay up-beat for them. But in the mean time, I explained our situation with their teachers.
Last week, I was thinking NOT to let them start school this Wednesday. Last week, my thought was "Why start them in school only to have to pull them out when we are evicted at the end of the month if I don't get a job."
Well, over the weekend, the Lord spoke to me. With that way of thinking (last week) then I am accepting the fate of eviction. I did not believe that GOD would supply our needs. I did not believe that GOD could provide me with a job.
All that changed Friday night / Saturday morning. I just started praising GOD for the banking job that I applied for late Friday evening. No, I have not been called for an interview (yet). But I NOW believe that GOD will provide me with a job. I don't know when, I don't know how. All that I do know (and believe) is that HE will provide for me and my family.
Please continue praying for us.

Absolutely Denna - we can praise him already for the things He is working out in your life and the things he is going to do!
Denna, I'm so so glad to read your words! No one, not one, could have said anything to you to make you feel better or make you believe and have faith unless it came from God. Praise the Lord! I just know that all will be well with you and your family.

I'm praising the Lord this morning for hearing our prayers and working in our hearts and lives! (Denna, Norma, beachwalker, Bill and more...)
My oldest son is due to go back to work on Monday - he's been doing a home diaylysis everynight and is feeling much better so that's a praise, but yesterday had their power and phone shut off because of an oversight and didn't pay the bill, and then his machine was acting up - so they were both feeling a little stressed, so if you will lift up Ryan and Kim today, for them to feel Gods love for them, and to know His peace.
Also, we are waiting on a final approval for my (youngest) son, David, to go to a different school. My prayer has been for God's will, and so far have seen God's hand in our favor. So, I'm asking that God will have favor again with this appeal committee this morning.
