Aug. 2009 - Prayers and Praises
Can you believe today is the last day of July?? Did it go by as fast for you as it did for me? All I can say is WOW - because many of us have faced some serious issues this month, but we have also seen our Lord work mightily in each of our lives.
Have you ever had times when you fell to ground in tears? You are not alone. Did you also know that those tears bring healing, as they are times spent at Jesus' feet? Here are a few things I learned this month while crying out to the Lord. If you are feeling distressed, I pray these same verses will lift you up as they have me.
Psalm 107:19-20 Then they cried out to the Lord in their trouble; He saved them out of their distress. He sent His Word and Healed them, and delivered them from their distress Psa 107:19
Psalm 34:17-18 Psa 34:17 cry out to the Lord
Psalm 6:6-7 Psa 6:6 your tears are precious to him
Psalm 56 Psa 56:1 He hears our cries
Isaiah 55:1-3 Isa 55:1 Come, it’s free!
Isaiah 42:6-9 Isa 42:6 He sets captives free
We also want to welcome our many new members and feel blessed that the Lord has led you to our little group. Hopefully you will find it unique on your journey to weight loss (or weight gain), but more importantly, I hope you find it a place to learn more how to incorporate the Lord and his word in every area of you life and find healing.
We welcome you to share your prayers and praises here so together we can lift each other up. From personal experience this past month, I can tell you that your prayers were felt. For we are called to "Rejoice with those who are rejoicing. Cry with those who are crying." Romans 12:15 and to "Bear one another's burdens, and thereby fulfill the law of Christ." Galations 6:2
Psalm 139
1O lord, thou hast searched me, and known me.
2Thou knowest my downsitting and mine uprising, thou understandest my thought afar off.
3Thou compassest my path and my lying down, and art acquainted with all my ways.
4For there is not a word in my tongue, but, lo, O LORD, thou knowest it altogether.
5Thou hast beset me behind and before, and laid thine hand upon me.
6Such knowledge is too wonderful for me; it is high, I cannot attain unto it.
7Whither shall I go from thy spirit? or whither shall I flee from thy presence?
8If I ascend up into heaven, thou art there: if I make my bed in hell, behold, thou art there.
9If I take the wings of the morning, and dwell in the uttermost parts of the sea;
10Even there shall thy hand lead me, and thy right hand shall hold me.
11If I say, Surely the darkness shall cover me; even the night shall be light about me.
12Yea, the darkness hideth not from thee; but the night shineth as the day: the darkness and the light are both alike to thee.
13For thou hast possessed my reins: thou hast covered me in my mother's womb.
14I will praise thee; for I am fearfully and wonderfully made: marvellous are thy works; and that my soul knoweth right well.
15My substance was not hid from thee, when I was made in secret, and curiously wrought in the lowest parts of the earth.
16Thine eyes did see my substance, yet being unperfect; and in thy book all my members were written, which in continuance were fashioned, when as yet there was none of them.
17How precious also are thy thoughts unto me, O God! how great is the sum of them!
18If I should count them, they are more in number than the sand: when I awake, I am still with thee.
19Surely thou wilt slay the wicked, O God: depart from me therefore, ye bloody men.
20For they speak against thee wickedly, and thine enemies take thy name in vain.
21Do not I hate them, O LORD, that hate thee? and am not I grieved with those that rise up against thee?
22I hate them with perfect hatred: I count them mine enemies.
23Search me, O God, and know my heart: try me, and know my thoughts:
24And see if there be any wicked way in me, and lead me in the way everlasting.

Heavenly Father ... please be with our brother as he renews his strength.
"You were tired out by the length of your road,Yet you did not say, ' It is hopeless.'You found renewed strength,Therefore you did not faint." Isaiah 57:10 (NAS)
"Even youths grow tired and weary, and young men stumble and fall; but those who hope in the LORD will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint." Isaiah 40-30-21 (NIV)
......Psalm 139......
Mark when you were lead to post this Psalm I bet you didn't know it was intended for me.

Bless the Lord O my soul! Bless His Holy Name! Bless the Lord O my inmost being and forget not His benefits, who forgives all my sins and heals all my diseases, He saves my life from the grave and loads me with love and mercy.
He satisfies me with good things and makes me young again, like the eagle.
Bless the Lord O my soul! Bless His Holy Name!!

The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much. James 5:14b
Thank you all for your prayers for renewed strength. You know that is why I love everyone in this room, because of the love of Christ that you share.
When the children of God come together and pray, there is nothing the enemy can do but flee. How can one make a thousand to flee and two ten thousand unless we have the power of God with us to defeat the attacks of the enemy.
kfeingold-thank you for your words, I knew there were other men lurking in the scenes in the room, and I thank God he allowed you to have those words of encouragement. I was thinking of those exact scriptures when I posted.
Norma Jean, thank you for your verse as well-God gave you the exact words I needed, as you know I had been preaching in other churches in addition to my own this month, and with the activities going on within my church and then preaching two Saturday Services this month as well, it was a joyful road to travel, but very tiring. The good thing and I give God praise is while out and about, you get to see others come to Christ and I love it. I was tired from the length of my journey, and have found renewed strength through the loving prayers of each of you.
May God bless each of you and you are all always in my prayers.

Today is August 31, so I thought I'd give you all an update. My DH was hired and began work over a week ago. We had money come in from a prior job and he had a small side job, so we are slowly chipping away at our bills. It boils down to this, we need to make 3 months of bills in 1 month. Thank you for your continued prayers.
For me, I'm not sure if you all know but I have had some health issues. Out of the blue, I had a severe allergic reaction and began testing last week. This health issue is totally different from what I have been suffering, or is it linked? We'll find out. God may be directing us....
Anyhow, I want to share this and wish everyone a great September. I'll be praying for y'all!
Psalm 96 1 Sing to the LORD a new song;
sing to the LORD, all the earth.
2 Sing to the LORD, praise his name;
proclaim his salvation day after day.
3 Declare his glory among the nations,
his marvelous deeds among all peoples.
4 For great is the LORD and most worthy of praise;
he is to be feared above all gods.
5 For all the gods of the nations are idols,
but the LORD made the heavens.
