You're so cute - I looked at your pictures.  Congrats on quitting smoking.  I think weight loss after quitting smoking is like weight loss after having a baby.  Difficult.  Everyone I've known to quit smoking has gained weight, but ultimately quitting smoking is so much more important than a few pounds.  Regardless, I know you can drop those pounds.  You just need to change your approach. 

Carefully evaluate your eating for a few days.  I hate keeping a food journal - it's too much work, but documenting everything you eat for a few days will really help illuminate what you're eating in the way of fat, calories, carbs, and protein.  Your ratios and deficit might be off. 

You might also want to change your workouts.  Our bodies get used to things.  I started out walking, and then jogging.  Now I walk half a mile, jog (really slow) for 3.75 miles, and then walk another half a mile.  That's the bulk of my workout.  Occasionally I'll do a few sets of arm exercises with 3 and 10 lbs weights and maybe a few planks, but my jog/walk in the mornings is my main workout.  I know it's just a matter of time before my body stops responding to this routine, so in 2 weeks I'm going to dramatically change my workouts so I don't hit a plateau in my weight loss. 

Starting September 3rd, (conveniently 2 days after I run my first 5k) I'm going to cut my cardio in half and switch to more structured weight training.  I'll also need to seriously re-evaluate my diet at that time because I'll need more protein.  I probably need more protein now.

You probably just need to shake things up a bit as well.  Good luck this week, and relish in the fact that at least you're not gaining!  You should also take your measurements this week and then take them again at the end of the month.  You could be losing inches instead of pounds which would indicate an increase in lean muscle mass.  That's just as awesome as seeing the scale go down in my opinion.

Well I have been horrid about updating.  I appologize.  Weight last Friday was 171.5 the friday before was 176.  But that catches me up.  I WILL remember this Friday darn it!!!!  :D

I dropped 3 pounds amazing last weigh in from working out every day.
I don't know if i'm really 64kg, i don't really trust my scales.
But i weighed myself 5 times and every time it stopped on 64kg so :) I'm going to take it... i must get some digital scales.
I haven't really lost anything since last week it said 64 too (though i refused to believe it), but i'm just happy i didn't gain anything after being forced to eat pizza and ice cream and thickshakes :(
so today I wweighed in at 208.7   yahoo!!!

Hi everyone, hope you all had a fantastic week! 

I started losing again after plateauing for a while. I was at 152, but we left Wednesday morning and drove to New Hampshire to pick up a puppy!  Then yesterday we drove back.  Two days of sitting in a car for 8 hours a day must have played with my fluid levels a bit.  I took rice and beans and salsa and canned salmon and apples and that helped keep me from eating any fast food.

Our puppy is gorgeous.  We're so excited!

I finally am out of the dreaded plateau that I've been on since the beginning of the challenge!  Surprisingly, the weight started to come off after I injured my right knee/hip and stopped running.  Just keeping my fingers crossed that it isn't muscle weight that I've lost =S

THIGHS:
We came from Rochester, NY to pick up our puppy in Rochester, NH!  We drove straight across NY State, into Mass, then up to NH, so no VT this time. But we love VT!  Maybe next time.  We got a Jack Russell Terrier!  She is so incredibly smart and cute.  We named her "Ruby".  I'll post a photo of her on my profile page.
