Aussie girl saying G'day

Quote  |  Reply

Hi All, I am a newbie stumbling in the dark looking for the light. Giving this weight loss thing yet another try... whats the saying.... "if at first if I don't succeed then I will try and try again..." Well thats me in a nutshell. I have a long journey, and do really well for first couple of months but find my motivation dwindles quickly so hopefully these forums will help stop that happening!!!

Well best of luck to you!  I just started on the 24th so I quite new as well.  So from another continent, I hope that you are able to push through attempt and reach your goal.  I know that in the few days that I have been on here it has become my most visited website.  Its great to see all the people together working for a common purpose.  So my advice is come back often and stay motivated!  Good luck again Laughing

Hi Aussie chick! Where are you then, you dont say much.

Best of luck with it all.

G'day! I always wanted to move to Australia, and now it seems my son shares my fascination... unfortunately, my husband and daughter are too attached to the US. You live in a fantastic place to stay active, and hopefully you also have the Aussie pluckiness! It will serve you well in achieving your goals. Focus on consistency... slow and steady. It may be frustrating, because you won't see the progress you'd like at first, but you'll get there. That is what I like about this site, it informs you, gives you the tools you need, and sets realistic and attainable goals. Follow your calorie guidelines and before long the weight will start coming off. Do you exercise? Just curious... anyway, if you'd like some moral support, I am painfully honest, occasionally funny, and visit the site on and off every day to update my meals and activities, so you won't feel like you are on your own. I wish you the best...

Hi thanks for your kind words... I'm not here very much as I find the diary very confusing, heaps of American brands and so forth, but should at least visit to stay with the forums, they at least will keep me motivated. Have started a morning working group with a couple of lovely neighbours ( they won't let me back out) which is great, we drop the kids at school and then set off for almost an hr. Went to my first dog training session the other day,(I am flirting with the idea of taking my puppy into the show ring). God forbid they made me run!!!! don't think it was all that pretty but boy I'm still feeling it so it must of done me some good!!! Any help is good a few kind words or stern ones to tell me to pull my socks up when I'm slack is always a good thing. For that Aussie lover in you and your son, we are animal nuts here and live about 1hr north of the capital city of Adelaide near the Barossa Valley which is a famous wine growing district. We have lots of dogs, cats a native pet lizard and a pet wallaby who isn' quite hand tame but we are working on it. Will see if I can post some photos on this site for you to look at.

Thanks again....

That is fantastic. We are animal lover's here as well... two dogs, two birds, two geckos, two frogs, fish... nothing as interesting as a wallaby, but still plenty to love and care for! My husband is a principal and is looking for a different job for next school year. There was something just north of Melbourne, and I nudged him a little. The housing market isn't very good at the moment here in the states, and it would be a heck of a commute... so doubtful for now!

Glad you are sticking with your activities, even if you are only occasionally visiting the site. I've been pretty consistent. I think I've only missed a day, but I'm still not losing anything... just firming up... which is something I suppose. I've decided I'm giving up spirits. If I have a glass of wine, or a beer then all willpower is gone and I move on to a bag of chips. I eat really healthy otherwise. Hopefully when I lose a bit, I can go back to having a drink on the patio. Funny you mentioned the running in dog showing. I always find that so humorous when you see everyone racing around dogs in tow. I bet it really is a workout if you do it regularly! What kind of dog are you considering showing?

Well better run... kids are home sick, and breakfast is already late! Keep at it, and take care.
