I was reading Woman's World, and one page, they said the average bra size in America was 34D. Is it just me, or does that seem a little crazy? 34D is supermodel proportions, not of the average woman. What do you guys think?

They are probably taking all the boob jobs into account...lol....because  i don't believe it...but i wear 34C/34D depending on the brand...
I'm a 30D, which is an impossible bra size to find. I can occasionally find a 32D, but most Ds are 34 and higher.
This is something I wrote in the Fitness forum, and just thought I would share it here as well:

GOD! You know, no one ever mentioned all the bad things that come with big boobs. Even the lady that said she was a G, didn't mention the back pain, and all the acheing. All of the guys oogle at your chest, and it makes you feel gross, and there is nothing you can do to hide them. The women always glare at you like your trying to take their boyfriends or husbands away, or like your just DYING to flash you boobs to them JUST because they are so big. ALSO, I can't sleep on my back because it feels like my boobs are crushing my rib cage and I can't breath properly. You can't jog/run, or do any kind of vigorous jumping activity unless you have the perfect sports bra because you might give yourself a black eye or your boob might pop out to say hello. It's not our fault if that happens. Seriously, we don't do it on purpose.

I had 36 C's when I was 12. Now I have 42 DDD's (F), and I'm 24. Well, now they are a little bigger because of my weight gain, which would explain why my bra's don't fit as well as they used to. My boobs have been shrinking too since I started to lose weight (thank god), and I can't wait until they fit right into my bra's again.

The reason they don't make pretty bra's for us big chested women is because we need all the support we can get. Women with considerably smaller breast's just need the support in the shoulder area where the straps are, but we need it in the shoulders AND the back. To be able to do that, the bra cup has to cover the entire breast...not just the bottom half.

And just for everyones information, I never got implants. I am either lucky, or cursed (depending on how you look at it). And yes, it is very hard to find bra's that fit, because they are all made for smaller breasted women.

And I was just wondering...anyone ever notice how with jeans, the bigger the waist, the shorter the pant leg? I mean, I'm big too, and I went to K-Mart to get a pair of jeans in size 16...I tried them on, and the bottom of the pant legs came up to the bottom of my knee. I am 5'11, and it irk's me that I have to go to special stores and buy clothes that cost 3 -4 times more than regularly just because of genes that I can not control. GRRRRRRRRRRRR BTW (This goes for bra's too. The big ones cost 4-5 times more)
er I'm a 34 B, I used to think that was around average but now I dont know lol
evaecho jeans can be tricky...you might want to check out some department stores. Even though they cost more, its worth it if you limit yourself and only have 2 wearable jeans at a time vs 4 or more.  Its better to have to keep washing them than to have more jeans at your disposal that don't fit you perfectly. With jeans, the fit is THE MOST important thing. Its all about the booty.

And since you are tall, I totally understand that they arent always long enough. I am a firm believer in pumps - even if I was 6'2'' I'd wear heels cause they just make your whole entire body look better.

Tried & true :)
at my heaviest I was only a 36B now I'm a 36AA...... *sigh* I swear my waist would look smaller if I had bigger boobs.  I'd love to be average if it's that size!

Okay in a week or so I'll be seventeen and I have been a 32 DD for a year or so.  It is so hard to find a bra and if I do they cost circa $80.  Women with average sizes should be happy!

Well I'm 14 and I am size 34D, and I'm sure it is not average! The only person I know with the same size as me is my 19yr old sister. And it's really hard to find bra's in my size - they're so expensive cos i have to get adult ones. Most people are thin with small boobs or big with big boobs, there aren't many people like me - I swear it's not average!
34D here, too. I was a 40DD in high school. But I don't think it's common. If it was, why would it be so hard to locate? I have the biggest chest in my family and I'm NOT the largest overall, not by a long shot.
36A - I like having a small chest!  I am tallish between 5'7" and 5'8".  I will be 33 in August, but my boobs look great - no droop!  I think I look athletic, in part b/c of my small top size. ;-)  I have no idea where I got them, b/c my mom wears a 34 C/D depending on brand and my aunts on my dad's side are all D or larger.

I have to say that 36A is a bit hard to find (but not expensive, which I am thankful for).  I really should be a 34, but I have broad shoulders. However, I am narrow front to back, if that makes sense.  That's why I need the larger band size - my boobs are farther apart than the 34 bras are made for.
i'm a 34D

sooo i'm average- that's cool i guess

Hmm...I read in other places that the average size was 36C. Anyway, I'm a 36D and at almost 15 it is a blessing and a curse. Guys always will ogle at your boobs, you can't wear certain tops, girls shun you from their group, rumors about you spread, you can't do sports (trust me--in volleyball, I ALWAYS NET) or vigorous activities like running and jumping (it's not pretty). However, girls are jealous of you, you always get attention from guys (even though it may not be the KIND of attention you want), and I personally think that it adds femininity. Curves are beautiful, and I know that men think so, too. By the way, many people get boob jobs and we have to keep in mind that America is currently fighting an obesity epidemic.
I so had a great response for this topic then I realized I had better not post it! So I am going to take the high road and not comment even... LOL!!

:)

Average, Bigger, Smaller, I enjoy them all! LOL! :) Ok, thats enough for me before I get put into the Time Out Corner!
Im a 36B and I always thought it to be around 36C or something
Hello ^^ small bands with slightly larger cups are pretty hard to find...but I bought a 32D last week for only $6.50  at Lasenza!! It was a pretty good deal because it was like one of those one piece ones  foamy itec ones =D.
It's interesting that this made a comeback now because I have been researching bra fitting in the last 2 days.

According to The Breast Site over 70% of women wear the wrong sized bra. I did what they asked and did all the measuring - according to them I should be a 36-38 F-FF cup. I swear, my chest isn't that big. Like it's big, but not enormous. I currently wear a 36D.

So I have decided that when I get down to my goal weight (125lbs) my reward will be to get professionally fitted and spend ridiculous amounts of money on new bras.

" since the avg woman is chubby and short, and a 34 D is pretty much the same as a 36 C or a 38 B-- i think its probably pretty close. "No, It's not... That statement is so wrong.

A 34 is a much smaller waist band beneath your breast. I know, because I was once a 36. After losing baby weight my band size changed back to a 34. Which means if I wear a 36 my band is too large around, my breast will fall through... Because it's not small enough to keep them up. The band is fitted to your body beneath your breast. There's a huge gap of space for my breast to fall below in a 36. ... I'm a 34c and there is no way I could wear a 36c. Much less a 38b even if the cup size is smaller. That doesn't work  because the actual band size is WAY too big of a gap.

So no way.

i agree that it seems to much of a typical model look, not real people.
I have actually gone down a bra size finally!!!! from a 40DD to a 38DD... its a small drop.. but a drop, nonetheless!!!
If only I had one more cup size up, I'd be what this Woman's magazine calls "AVERAGE." I'm sitting here at 34C.

I've seen this response from a lot of people, "that's a supermodels measurements!" Have you people SEEN supermodels lately? They have VERY boyish figures (no boobs or hips) and have legs as long as the day. Now, if you're referring to ladies that have had some augmentation done in that department and you're thinking of VS or Maxim models, then yes, I could see your arguement.

I always thought the average was a 36 C.
