Average bra size?

I was reading Woman's World, and one page, they said the average bra size in America was 34D. Is it just me, or does that seem a little crazy? 34D is supermodel proportions, not of the average woman. What do you guys think?

I was hoping it would be the band size, not the cup size, that dropped. No such luck. I could cop out and blame my ribcage, though.

ok am i the only fat chick on earth with small boobs!!!! and the worst part is that is where i lose the weight first....but do i ever gain it back there, NO! ok, vent over. But really try finding a 40 B...nearly impossible and the ones at Lane Bryant lie...thier B cup is ginormous! So i usally have to settle for a 38C that is very stretchy! not ideal..but hey what can i do?

Who cares what size you are -- if it's that big of a deal lie and/or artificially enhance. They sell all kinds of products for "enhancing."

What I would GIVE for a cup size. Even those nearly A bras are too much of a cup. Sports bras are the only thing that are small enough for me. :(

Mine never change - - 36C at 150 lbs, 36C at 188 lbs.... they may change slightly... maybe enough to try to the new 1/2 size bras that came out :)

I wear a 34 D and I don't think I look out of proportion.

I started out at 36C. Heck, even in 3rd grade I was a 34C(i started REALLY early). I figured my boobs would grown but 9th grade my boobs were the same(36C). I lost of 70lbs and now im a 34B ALMOST A.

I miss my boobs.

32a. i like my small boobs. hate that the bra people forget that us small- chesters still roam the earth and like to wear bras that actually fit... so hard to find anything below 34a or 32b. just because we're small, do we not bleed???

I would have to agree with you on the comment of 34D being of supermodel proportions.  Everything I have heard is that 34B is the average bra size for a woman in the U.S.  Drew

That can't be true! It has to be at least 34C if not B!!!

Plus, supermodels don't have boobs.... except Tyra Banks.

I'm a 36' B (almost C) and they get hard to control sometimes,, I'm not sure I could handle anymore. Everyone I know has small boobs, i dont know where are these big boobed girls are but they sure aren't in Arkansas

I have also seen shows that reflect that most women aren't sized correctly so that has to throw off the averages by a half or even a whole cup size.  Statistics are a tough thing to quote.  I think the bottom line is are you happy with your body?  Averages don't speak to your own happiness but only allow a measuring stick for us to compare against?  How useful is that really? 

I like my boobs :D:D:D They're the only part of my body I DO like!

134 lbs. Small frame. 36 C.  My mom always teases me because she's never worn a bra in her life (completely flat) and I end up having to make sure too much clevage isn't showing all the time ;).......the grass is always greener. 

Well, let me rephrase that: I love how my boobs look in shirts and I love my cleavage. Otherwise, they're just kind of.... gross....

I myself am a busty girl,  but short....4' 11. Right now I'm in a 36 DD. I am slightly overweight...but when I was thinner..I was probably a 36 D. (I was never measured, until last year).

I honestly don't see 34D as average. Most of the gals I know are Small C or  med B cup, some are even smaller than that.

It must be the boob jobs pushing up the average...

32 A  or most likely 34 A.

I was a 34B.. it's been a few months since my boobs shrank, but havent gotten around shopping for new bras yet.. haha :D yah they're kinda swimming in my old ones.. but I wear a lot of layers & most of my bras are underwire & padded so it doesnt really show.... ill get some new ones hopefully this weekend.

I cant belive 34D is the avg.. yah i think its either boob jobs as well, or.. people are just lying :-)

I am a 34 DDD or 36 DD, at least that is what I can find that almost fits, and yes they are all natural.  I can't find bras to fit and no one ever measures me right so I have to make due.  Last measurement put my band around a 32- which you can't find, and my cup at DD.  Anyone know where to find that, without paying a fortune getting one specially made?? I was hoping with losing 22 lbs I would lose some of them, but I only went from a 36 DDD to what I'm at now.

I would imagine it would be a C cup. Most people would range somewhere around AA~DD. And with obesity in population rising, big cup sizes such as F, G, I, they will skew the stat so I wouldn't say "average" would be the best one to use. BUT I'm not a statician so what do I know.

I'm 34A/32A (I don't know my exact bra size either) and always wanted B cups. But... grass is always greener on the other side. :P

Well I was a 36F as a teen, and I was not obese. I just had very large breast, and I was only 5'3 (still am).

Do we count my natural size, or my size after surgery?

I am a size 36D now.
