Average-Sized College Girls Wanting to Lose 20 (135-115?)

I want to go from 135 to 115 on a 5'5 frame. Anyone with me? I'd love some support and accountability from fellow college-age ladies. I know I'm not overweight, but I want to be more fit than I am. I've got this horrid double-chin, and I'm afraid to wear spaghetti-straps.


So anyone in my range, join on up! We can do Monday weigh-ins and such. I want this so much I can TASTE it.

tasha: congrats on not gaining! who knows, maybe you retained water and will actually lose some more! easter will definitely be hard for me, chocolate is my weakness!

valpal: all i can really tell you is to weigh yourself at the same time of day whenever you weigh, the most accurate is in the morning after you've gone to the bathroom. the amount of clothes you have on, if your hair is wet, and how recently you've eaten or drank (and the amount of salt), and many other factors play in to messing with your numbers. 

eechie: since you didn't eat for 7 hours, i'm sure the pizza didn't hurt you too bad :) and look at that loss, you rule girl!

i am realllyyy frustrated. After finally getting down to 129, I gained and am at 132 now! i don't get it! I workout every day and eat very healthy! I guess I just have to work out even more and eat less...or something. SUGGESTIONS WELCOME

Well anyways, great job to everyone here! Even though I'm not losing weight, it's comforting to know that it IS possible for my weight and frame. Everytime I watch weight loss TV shows, it bugs me that people that are like 200 pounds lose 10 pounds by doing a lot less than what I do! lol. I am so motivated; if I knew what I need to do to lose weight, I would do it. But I'm all out of ideas! help please :)

shinydiscoballs: what happened? big meal.. cheat day.. exercising.. etc? there is a possibility that you haven't in fact *gained those pounds you see on the scale. trust me, there have been times where i've seen 3-4 lbs over what i actually weigh. if you've started your period or eaten lots of salty food you could be retaining water, or there still may be food digesting in your system. sounds like you're working hard, so i doubt you've gained! weigh yourself in a couple days and see what happens. 

 

 

how would everyone feel about closing this group? i think it would help us to get to know one another and truly help motivate our fellow CCers.

 

tip of the day: location, location, location! where you store your food can help you eat healthier. keep bottled water and low-cal drinks front and center in the fridge. place healthy snacks (fruit, veggies, etc) at eye-level in clear containers. as for higher-fat snacks and less desirable foods, shove them to the back of the pantry.

I had another sneaky weigh in last night as well ( i know i shouldn't weigh myself every day) and i was 1lb lighter :) but I won't using it as an official weigh in until after easter.

shinydiscoballs, there is a possibilty that it is muscle? you say you have been working out everyday so it's more than likely.

ahhh this is the group for me! I started out college at my highest of 142 and i dropped down to 133 by my 2nd quarter. I wasn't even trying to lose it at that time, i actually didn't realize i was losing it. After winterbreak i got up to 137 and now i fluctuate from 134-137. I started to work out alot more and eat healthier meals since then, but the scale doesn't seem to change.

My goal has been 125 since high school but i can't seem to break the 130-135 range! Any suggestions or help would be amazing! I also realize I tend to binge randomly on foods which is probably a factor as to why i can never break 130!

Anyway, goodluck to you ladies! lets do this!

I made a similar group to this in the weight loss section lol...mine is for girls 5'4-5'6 stuck at ~130lb...though you're welcome if you're a little shorter or taller than that :D

I'm 5'5 133lb...small framed...I have a muffin top and inner thigh fat that I'd love to get rid off...goal weight/size: 120lb or size 4...whichever comes first.

Weight in:

Start: 141

Last week: 133.5

This week: 132.5

Goal: 115-120

 

On my way! Like a lot of people, I had a pretty bad easter weekend (though not because it was easter, i was in a particularly time-consuming play) and I need to get back on track. Come on ladies, keep working out. We can do it.

I'm in. I have recently gained between 5 and 10 pounds.  I'm at almost 140 and would love to get down to 120 and then eventually 115.  I am very short, so this is a really realistic/good goal for my build.

I'm totally in! Do we just all chat while we're doing this? Haha. I don't really know how it works.. So I'm definitely in this to lose my freshman 15 and get back into running and such. I just need an extra push of motivation!

Easter weekend killed me.  I have been working out more lately, so I hope to lose fat, gain muscle, and tone up!

I gained 5 pounds in college my first year. However I've been meaning to lose weight since high school. I'm tired of excuses. I'm finally going to do it this time. 

I also had a really bad Easter (totally coincidentally, since I didn't even celebrate this year) and I've been trying to get back on track all week. But I missed my workout yesterday. =(


But we all still really want it! And we've made progress! Everyone, keep going. Today and tomorrow, stay under your limit and hit the gym. Think of how great it will be when we can report back to each other on monday that we've lost a pound. YESSS.

I'm weighing myself on a different scale that I bought for school and I don't know how it compares to the one I weighed myself on last, which was at my parents' house.  Anyways, it says I'm down 4 pounds from last week, so I guess I'll take it =)

College really makes it tough to be healthy, especially if you live in a dorm, eat the school's meal plan and like to drink occasionally : / Hopefully this helps me : )
