Average-Sized College Girls Wanting to Lose 20 (135-115?)

Quote  |  Reply

I want to go from 135 to 115 on a 5'5 frame. Anyone with me? I'd love some support and accountability from fellow college-age ladies. I know I'm not overweight, but I want to be more fit than I am. I've got this horrid double-chin, and I'm afraid to wear spaghetti-straps.

So anyone in my range, join on up! We can do Monday weigh-ins and such. I want this so much I can TASTE it.

If you guys are still going I'd like to join.  Long time yo-yo dieter trying to get back to normal weight after quitting smoking 2 1/2 years ago.  I am very active -- live on a farm and train horses, run 3-5 miles 6 days/week etc and have recently began gaining weight.   I'm gaining on practically NO FOOD(I'm a vegetarian and pretty limited)  I have mostly salads, fruits and vegetables all of the time. so I'm trying to stick with the 1800 cc says I should be taking in but it scares the crap out of me.  For those who say what I have gained  could be muscle, thanks, but wrong!  I know when my clothes fit and I know that muscle doesn't have dimples.LOL!  I'm 5'2" and pretty muscular so I am trying to be realistic.  I don't have much to lose at all but it seems ridiculously difficult to come off so if you'll have me I'd love to join!  Good luck all and those who are losing keep it up!  Asl

Don't give up, tasha! One week maintenance is not that bad. You have a fresh start right now.

Is it a self-control issue, and you know you've been eating badly and not exercising enough but it's so hard to do anything about it? Or have you genuinely been very good and the weight still didn't come off?

If it's the former, just think of how happy you'll be next monday to declare you lost a pound. You and me weigh the exact same right now. We can do it as a team. Wear a rubber band around your wrist and if you reach for something you know you shouldn't eat, look at it and remember your teammates and how we want to be able to share the excitement of next monday's weigh-in! Give the rubber-band a snap if you want to. If finals are getting you down this week, take at least half and hour to walk around or get to the gym for a bit. Every little bit helps, and will keep your serotonin levels up, which keep you happy.

If it's the latter problem, i'd consider re-examining your intake and expenditures. Are you double-counting for your burn meter? Are you underrepresenting what you're eating? Or, on the other hand, are you starving yourself too much? it sounds cliché but i know from experience- if you starve your body, it will panic and refuse to budge, and you'll be ruined for a few weeks while you try to get your metabolism back to normal. If that is what has happened, don't worry. A week of matainence eating, TONS of exercise, and then another week of slow loss will get you right back on track.

Let us help you! You're not over weight. Like I said, we're in the same boat right now, and we can do it! Just remember how short a period a week is. Time flies.

Hey

What's going on with this group?

I've had exams which finished today, so I'm back on the bandwagon and checking in. How's everybody?

omygosh I just found this group and this is JUST what I have been looking for! I am 23, 134 lbs at 5'5 and my goal is 115 lbs by August 25!! I have been seeking support and motivation from people like me who can keep me on track and focused! Anyone have similiar goals and want to buddy up and accomplish them together?!?

CW: 140?

I was 129 half a year ago, but I gained some back :\
(I used to weigh 170, eeep!)

Hey, this is a great idea.

I just finished finals today and I'm excited to get back into the gym and really concentrate on losing ten more pounds this summer.

I'm in.

By the way, eechie, you are doing an awesome job! And I know what you mean about the spaghetti straps. I finally got the courage to wear a regular tank top. Now if only I could go out in public in shorts... but that'll take work!

This is a great idea! I'm 5'11'' and 164 lbs, I'm not overweight either, but I'd love to get down to 144 by the end of the summer :).

I am 23 years old..5'4,5..currently weighing 57,5 kilos ( around 126 pounds )...I reached 55 kilos(120 pounds) a short while back..but I gained weight so fast and in a short while...

My goal weight is 53/54 kilos...around 118 pounds...

I need TO BE MOTIVAAAAAAAAAAAAATED...

Let's work together...

Wink

Yay, count me in ladies! College and studies sometimes make us forget about eating and exercising properly! Definitely need to lose weight before next summer.

Current: 128.4

Goal: 105 lbs
