How to avoid bloating/swollen tummy?

Quote  |  Reply
Hi All,

i have a big eveving coming up (next saturday)...i have this very nice dress, but i need to be sure to keep my tummy flat... Unfortunately, i have noticed that one or twice a week, i get all bloatted, and my tummy is huge...i suspect this is due to certain type of food i eat (i have a few cues, and will avoid the day before what i thing might be responsible- of course ne beans and salty food!), but i was wondering if you guys had additionnal no-nos, and some recommended food that might help me.

thanks

It's funny you mention bloating and swelling.  I just read: You, on a Diet (The Owner's Manual for Waist Management).  The authors are Michael F. Roizen M.D. and Mehmet Oz M.D.  There's an entire chapter on this subject.  I highly recommend reading it.  I think it's pretty educational and too complex for me to try to give the Reader's Digest version.  I couldn't begin to do it justice.

It's my understanding from the reading that controlling bloating and swelling due to food consumption is quite important to one's long term health not to mention weight management.  The reason most of us are using this sight.

It's at my local library already (maybe it's at yours) and I think it's under $20 at the bookstore.
thanks, i 'll look into it.
drink lots of water... if you are sufficiently hydrated, you won't bloat.
