What have you avoided eating lately?

Quote  |  Reply

Over Valentines my mother brought me a cake.

Tiramisu cake.  One serving = 520 calories, 300 fat calories, 52% rda fat.

I have not eaten any of it.  Not one nibble or crumb.

I have conquered the temptation!  (yay me!)

Your poor mother.... She can't have known you were trying to lose weight. Instead of wasting what sounds like a very nice cake how about spreading the love around a little..... sharing it with some friends and having a very small serving yourself?

Way to go - I would have been way too tempted and would have eaten a piece...then, since the entire thing would still be sitting there I would have had a little more!

I resisted chocolate brownie pudding the past few nights. I made it for my husband for valentines day and when he has eaten it the past few nights I have had a sf, ff pudding......

Wow, that's some will power you have.

When stuff like that happens to me, I have to get rid of it, so I usually bring it to work.  Five minutes around male coworkers and anything delicious is gone and I am free and clear of that temptation.

My husband bought me some chocolates, but they are all little and I've managed to only eat 2 over two days, and there are about 20 in the box...

my roommate brought back chocolates from belgium that look amazing...but i know myself- if i have one i will eat them all, so i wont even have one!

Or give some to me!  Mail it to Denver!

I have avoided eating ALL of my Valentine's day chocolate.  I have had some, but it's dark chocolate (antioxidants!) infused with grape (more antioxidants!).  Or at last that's the way I'm justifying it.  :)  I've only had 1/4 of the (small) box, though, so I'm doing well at ~pacing~ myself.

My boyfriend brought home a cheese danish last night (my favorite- ****.) I resisted for approx. 1.5 hours... then I ate it... go me Embarassed....

Very impressed with your willpower my friend!

I resisted a slice of Chocolate Oreo Cake yesterday (over 500 calories a slice).  It looked so good and would have been great with a tall glass of milk.  So instead I had a small glass of 1% milk (100 calories).  I'm pretty proud of myself for that one.

I am avioding nuts and peanut butter again. I go through periods when I can't eat just one serving. They're off the food list again for awhile.

Trying not to eat cheese or drink wine as these are my main downfalls...

Ice cream is my favorite food ever, and when I eat ice cream I can't just eat a little, I eat at least a pint at a time...i've decided to not eat any ice cream (i'll only be tempted to eat more of it if I have a little).

Anyway, I haven't had any ice cream in 36 days :]

Thin mints! And carbs in general - it's not really that hard.

I brought a box of cookies to work and anonymously put them in the kitchen :) Not only did I not eat them - I got to watch other people happily much away wondering who the mysterious cookie gifter was :D

I can't believe you haven't had any of the cake!!!!

I have been avoiding eating out all together.  It seems like it starts a downward or maybe upward spiral on calories.

I received chocolates and encouraged my neices and nephews to dig in.  They ate a lot of them but left all the ones with pecans- my fave.

Valentine's day was hard on the ol' diet.

For the last 6 weeks I have not eaten:

The basket of 50 (yes 50) Munch peanut candy bars my aunt sent me for x-mas - 11,000 calories.

The giant Hershey's chocolate almond bar my hubby gave me for Valentine's-  950 calories.

None of the homemade cookies I make the kids every Friday - 200 calories each x 10 per week = 2,000 calories.

'Before' I would have eaten all of those by now - in just 6 weeks - and added another 4 or 5 pounds to my weight.  ugh

For me it's hamburgers...and fries... No way, no how. They are a slippery slope!

What an amazing powerful bunch of people we are!

Its like we are made of teflon - throw temptation our way and it just rolls off onto someone else's plate.  Innocent

Exactly.  I don't know if it's evil or genius, but my Dad is visiting tomorrow and I'm giving him all that candy.  I'm going to call it an early Father's Day gift. Laughing
