Avoided a Massive Binge! Holla!
Today my family went through a pretty huge tragedy. While I'm not going to go into details about the tragedy itself, I will say that it left me feeling incredibly down and wanting nothing more than to burry my face in a box of pastries.
So, in my typical fashion, I went to Target and bought a three donuts, a cupcake, and a cream cheese frosted brownie. Yep. Absolutely disgusting. I know. I went to the car, about to take a bite into one of the donuts (and fully intending to finish all that I bought within 10 minutes), when I suddenly stopped, and thought about what I was about to do.
I thought, how is this possibly going to help me feel better? If anything, I will end up hating myself for ruining all the hard work I've done over the past week and a half to eat healthily. Not to mention the heartburn and terrible stomach ache.
So, I got out of my car, threw away all that I bought and got a mani/pedi instead.
While I know that it was sick for me to even buy that stuff to begin with, I cannot explain how PROUD I am for not eating any of it. Not even one bite.
It may not seem like much to those of you who do not suffer from a binging problem, but I am now binge free for 9 days. It sounds ridiculous I know--and probbaly like I'm making too big a deal out of it--but this is truly an accomplishment for me. I cannot remember the last time I have gone so long without a binge.
Just wanted to share with someone! : )
Good job. Don't be ashamed that you bought it, be proud that you had the willpower to get rid of it, even though you were upset. You deserve to be thrilled with yourself.
: )
Congrats! I think being able to relate has nothing to do with appreciating someone`s personal success. Your enthusiams alone says everything there is to know. Maybe next time you feel the urge to binge you will remember how amazing it felt to avoid it and how it gave you power. No doubt in my mind that the temporary comfort of food wouldn`t have even come close to this satisfaction.
Nice job, but I probably would have returned them and got my money back, ![]()
But there has been many days at the begining where I wanted pizza or McDonalds, etc. With each day, it gets easier to stay away from the bad stuff (even when things go wrong in your life).
9 days is a huge acomplishment!!
ive gone one day so far,, im going to do 10 days and then see how it goes!
has not binging worked effectivily for weight loss?
Well, I've lost about 4 pounds in the last 9 days...but that's mostly water weight. I'm going for 2 pounds per week, looking to lose a total of about 20-25 pounds. But getting over bingeing in general is really my biggest struggle.
Yeh,, But how great does not binging feel!
What an inspiration! Keep it up, cubs688.
Way too go! ![]()
This is awesome! Next time I just want to gorge when I'm feeling down, maybe I'll think of this post and instead spend my money on something that will spoil me and actually make me feel better in the long run! Like maybe buying a shirt that I can now fit into :)

Figure out what type of eater you are and you might just find the answer to permanent weight loss.
