Why did I get a B+
Okay...not that a B+ is that bad...but this is my analysis from yesterday:
Fat - 18.6% (17 grams)
Protein - 53.8% (107 grams)
Carbohydrates - 27.6% (55 grams)
Alcohol - 0.0%
Other - 0.0%
Daily Sodium Intake - 795 mg
Daily Sugar Intake - 21 grams
Daily Cholesterol Intake - 91 mg
Daily Saturated Fat Intake - 2 grams
Daily Fiber Intake - 10 grams
The past few days my carbs have been way up and protein kinda low, so yesterday I had sashimi for dinner and skipped the rice to try and adjust, but on the days my carbs were up and protein down I got an A. What gives?
Looks like you may need to eat some more veggies and fruit - your fiber is pretty low, only 10 grams.
Check your vitamin levels too by holding your pointer over the date. I have no idea how they come up with the grade, but you could also check the grades of the individual foods you ate that day- I find when I eat a food with a lower grade, it has more of an effect on my overall grade than the balance of carbs/protein/fat.
I would guess it's the low fiber and low carb percentages. I would sure try and keep my fiber higher on a day with that much protein. Keep that engine running smoothly!
You can use the CC food log to do a 'what if'... Take the day's log and add on 5oz broccoli. See if that does anything. If not, add on a couple of slices of wholemeal bread and see what happens then.
I would think it's because your diet that day was imbalanced as in far too much protein and not enough carbohydrate, fat or fibre. 25-30% fat, 15-25% protein and 50-65% carbohydrate isn't a bad benchmark
It's hard to trust that thing. If you eat absolutely NOTHING but strawberries it will give you an A, where it gives an omega-3 supplement an F.
But now that you mention it, your fiber is pretty lacking. And most protein sources only get up to about a B, which is the bulk of what you're eating, so that could be it.

You actually need a minimum of 130 grams of carbohydrates per day and your percentage shouldn't dip below 40%. Carbohydrates are actually your body's (especially the brain's) favorite source of energy and without carbs, your body cannot fully use the fat and protein you're eating.
And, as the others said, your fiber is low. Try getting a bigger variety of fruits, vegetables, and whole grains and this'll bring both your fiber and carbohydrates to a better number. Best of luck! ![]()
Your overall grade has nothing to do with the amount of fiber, fat, protien, carb, etc... what it is is a proportioned grade based on the grades and weights of the foods you put into your food log.
The grading system is only a guide, and is highly manipulative. If you wish to change your grade, eat something that is graded high, but is heavy in weight (apples and most fruits are good examples).
