Having babies and losing weight...

Quote  |  Reply
I have had 2 babies in the last 4 years and then turned around and lost 60+ pounds so far. My lower belly looks so terrible...what is this stuff?? Loose skin or cellulite?? Plus my stretch marks...(which arent as bad as I thouht after seeing another girl's at work) I am only 10-12 pounds from my goal...my waist is out of proportion to my hips...I am losing weight and fitting into smaller sizes than ever, but my belly looks gross. How dissapointing...

Anybody else dealing with this?? Is this going to get better over time or what??

14 yrs ago I had my son, and then my daughter 7 yrs ago.

I have strech marks galore.

I wear them proudly thou.

I don't think there is a fix for it.
I was hoping they would fade with time...maybe this is TMI but when I *ahem* developed as a teen I had stretch marks on my "girls", but they are not visible anymore unless you are inspecting them...

I was kinda hoping my tummy would do the same...except these are way bigger...
What about this tummy mush?? Does your tummy skin at least seem a little tighter??

I could handle the stretch marks better if I had something going for me.... :-)
For me, I have had them not only thru pregnacy but due to being obese.

I have no fix... I hate them too.  This summer I am wearing a bathing suit, but not a bikini.
Tummy mush, I have some.  Sit ups are great.  I also walk "suck it in" let it out "suck it in" let it out.

Mind you I'm 36 going on 37.

Now I need saddle bag fixes....

:)
I think stretch marks do fade over time, but they hardly ever go away completely. It is a sign of motherhood, and just something we have to deal with. A friend sent me a website a while back with photos of mothers baring their bellies after childbirth and proud of them, I will have to try to find that and post it here. Very inspiring, and really nice to know you are not the only one out there with a less than perfect belly!

I guess if we were really rich we could go get some cosmetic surgery done, but that's not a viable option for most of us.  Find a good girdle and get used to wearing it, that's my solution! Or good control top pantyhose.
I have muscles underneath the mush, I can feel them...I have done sit-ups, full-body planks, oblique (sp?) moves, you name it, I have done it...I have worked on toning my abs more than anything else...I am not the most consistent, but I have had spurts where I worked out for a month or more consistently...

If I wear a tight belt, then take it off, I can see the indention where the belt was...isnt that terrible??
If I ever decide to go for plastic surgery...it will be for the boobs, they need it more... :-)

I dont think it looks bad with clothing over it...sometimes I feel fake...like my tummy is all good covered up, (just dont poke it..haha) and pushed-up (like a bra, I mean) but if I were standing naked AHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!

(Not that I will be standing around naked anytime soon in front of anybody but dh...)
Warning, the link I posted does show nudity, so don't open in the workplace or around kiddo's. (it's non-sexual though)
Oh and here is the original blog, before they moved: http://shapeofamother.blogspot.com/
Yeah, I look just like that first woman where you click to enter the site. Dead on. (The boobs and tummy I mean.)

I took a pic of me in a bikini while on vacation...I wa going to post it for friends only, but after looking at it again, I was too shy...I did not look really fat, and that is such a huge accomplishment for me...but it is the tummy!

I am killing time while the rest of the pics load up...I am dial-up...ugh...
How sweet...I read some stuff that made me kinda teary...

now I feel a little superficial for caring (but I still do)

this woman wrote something like "it may not be pretty now but it was your home" awwwwww....

Thanks so much for the link and the new perspective...
