Baby Food!!

Quote  |  Reply
Recently when i went to my cousins house who has an amazing 1 year old little girl i noticed she has these cute little snacks that gerber now makes for toddlers, they are super low in calories and looked like real adult snacks. So when i went food shopping i picked up the baby cheese doodles and apple cinamin puffs.. turns out they are so good! They come in little containers too so that stops me from downing the whole thing because i want them to last for a while after spending $3 on cheese doodles. the cheese doodles are 35 cal per serving (which i think is like 13 of the mini chips) and the fruit puffs are 25 calories per serving. Has anyone else tried these out i think its a pretty cool find!

Jen, that is such an interesting idea!  Those 100 cal packs have nothing on this mini snack!

I haven't tried that, but I do love those little baby food meat sticks--do you know which ones I'm talking about?  They might be Gerber Graduates.  At any rate, people say I'm crazy, but they're really good!

OoOooo.... would the fruit puffs be nice added to cereal or yogurt?

I may have to check this out!

=^..^= MOLLY

molly- totally! My two year old nephew lives with us some of the time, and when he was younger i used to snack on these while feeding him :-) they do kinda dissolve though because they're made for babies w/o teeth, so they might not hold up. but flavor wise, sure! they're like dried fruit kinda. except the water is replaced with air if that makes any sense LOL!!
I always look at those things, and think that they look good... but I told my mom that once and she laughed at me.  And when I'm shopping for myself at school, I find it hard to spend that extra $$$$ for that stuff!  But I think it's an awesome idea; maybe I'll "splurge" next time, haha!  I'm jealous of the little kids' food!
I have the fruit puffs and they are good. Although, one night I decided I wanted to make them last awhile so i sucked on them rather than chewed.  It made the top of my mouth sore.  I only wonder what it would do to a baby's mouth?

Check out the hungry girl website--she has recipes for how to make different trail mixes using the Gerber stuff.

i thought this was going to be about eating jars of baby food.

which i have done sometimes. mostly the fruit kinds. i know it might be weird. but they are good.
Those things are sooo good, I have a 21 month old son and used to eat them all the time.  Now he snacks on adult food for the most part!!!  I also picked up the habit of eating with baby spoons (weird I know) so I can enjoy my food more and it takes me longer to eat!!!

Those are awesome! They're my regular breakfast on college. I can munch on them for ages, they have no sugar added and are packed with vitamins. And their taste is simply yummy.

People would make fun of me for that, but who cares! I find this a way better snack than 3-days-old pre-packed sandwiches from the vending machine they eat.

I also like that they come in glass containers, which I recycle :)

Sorry for reviving the old thread, but I have to agree, they are pretty good tasting and low in calories for those who are losing weight. I love the yogurt melts, the finger food puffs, and I had strep  throat a while again so I basically lived off the jared ones and something called "dutch apple dessert" was really good.
