Going back to the elliptical, an old friend
Hi, I'm Laura. I have been very much off the wagon of eating and treating my body right for a few years now, but now I am 2 weeks into my new way of life, and I am loving it! I'm concentrating on calories mostly, calories in, calories out... after all, that's really what it's all about. I have been considering how to get back into a routine of exercise, and after reading Freakybunny's front page story today, I am thinking that going back to my old buddy--the elliptical--is the best bet.
I have an elliptical in a small gym at work, and I used to work out on it 3-4 times per week (30 minutes, sometimes less per day), and I lost over 70 pounds in 7 months that way (also doing Atkins, and then a modified lower calorie diet of my own).
The difference between then and now is now I have 2 kids, and my extra half hours per day are no more... hard to work it into the schedule. However, I will figure out a way. Today I stole away 30 minutes in the middle of my afternoon for ellipsing, spurred on by the energy in Michael Jackson's Don't Stop till you Get Enough. Listened to most of the album while I burned calories.
I truly love elliptical training!!
I love the elliptical, too. But that's pretty much an open secret around here. I love how I can know for sure that I am burning about 650 calories each and every time I use it. For some reason I can totally go to town on the thing in a way I never could jogging, biking, or whatever.
Glad you've found your way back to your "old friend" :-)
