My back hurts!
You guys, I think I've messed my back up.
Its not really bad, but my lower back is sore and it feels... strained. For example, it feels really strained when I bend at the waist as if I'm doing a dead lift. Its also uncomfortable when doing a squat. I am always told I have good form. I don't know whats going on.
I do these group classes and I'll be damned if we're not always doing lunges, squats, dead lifts... how do I know its not just the muscles that are sore vs my spine?
Its really uncomfortable to sit, lay, stand straight.
What to do??

Go see your doctor......... and if anything is wrong im pretty sure he can help you find ways to deal with it.. and take a break off from lifting , relax your muscles alittle.
When I first joined curves my lower back was killing me. I skipped 3 days and it felt so much better but started hurting again after working out. Anyway after a month it stopped so I think I was just using muscles I hadn't used in a long while. Have you just started a new exercise?
Take a break, change your workout...pay close attention to core strengthening
I can tell you right now that my back is hurting pretty bad but for me its just muscle soreness from.....tadaa deadlifts.
Nothing new.... but when I do one-legged dead lifts, for example, my balance is pretty off. So core work is probably a really good idea. I'll be looking into that. Thanks guys.
Hmm when i've had backaches (and I get them frequently) i find that it feels soooo much better after exercising that when just sitting. I don't mean lifting and straining your back, go easy on that, but moving around with walking/elliptical etc loosens it up a lot. You should see your Dr too though.
massage and the chiropractor ( i love my chiropracter) and most of them give you a massage as part of their treatment.
