back pain: easy stretches?

Quote  |  Reply

i put this topic up because i got hit my a car while biking last week (i didn't break/sprain/dislocate anything so i count myself very luck.  and yes, it was the drivers fault, not mine) and i've been trying to do some back strretches (i'm got back muscle issues at the moment because of the accident), but it doesn't seem to be getting better.  i do the roll down when standing up, rolling on my lower back while lying down and my legs hugged against me, since these seem to be the least strenuous and i really don't want to make things worse.

do any of you have any otehr easy stretches?  i do them to help with the pain, so please, make then easy!

thanks!

Have you been to the doctor??? Stretches might not be the solution, and I'd rather you get advice from someone who can actually examine you and help identify the source of the pain.

yes, went to the ER right after it happened to make sure everything was fine, that's how i know it's muscular.  they said to do easy stretches like the ones i've been doing (those were the examples they gave me), but i was wondering if there were other ones i could do...

Hmm, no, those are the only ones I know that are gentle - the rest involve things like hanging stretches or PNF stretches wich are decidedly not gentle. I think the best you can do is stick to those gentle stretches and try to get a bit more protein in your diet - protein helps speed up the healing of traumatized skeletal muscle.
