Going back to where I used to be....

Hey.

I wouldn't say that I'm a "new member", I've used this site for a while now, but I never really got involved in the community and what not.  So I decided that I should and would, as I have been "creeping" around a bit just to see what goes on and all you guys are so friendly and motivating, and it really helps in weight loss/ weight maintain.

My Name Is Scott, I'm 21 and from Ontario Canada.  I've always been a big guy untill about 2 years ago, a buddy's girlfriend somehow made something click in my head that I no longer wanted to be 300lbs.  I've worked off and on and this summer I never felt better.  My grandmother passed away over the holidays last year and I was back to school, so times were tough, I kinda stalled on my progress.  In the early summer I got mono, and I was off work for a good chunk of time, I worked hard, ate right and I basically didnt feel much effects from the mono, other than I'd love to sleep.    My girlfriend at the time was away for 3 months and when she came back she decided she was going to break up with me and blame it all on me and my "changes".  This hurt, it hurt super deep, so I resorted back to my old ways of eating ****, putting weight back on and drinking (try to be more like the old scott that she remembered when she left).  I later found out it was because she was cheating on me and for some reason it was all my fault and none of hers.  Anyways enough of my sob stories.  I'm recovering from a horribly broken arm right now, im out of my cast and in physio...I've put on about 4 inches around the waist and 25 pounds since the break up....This weekend my buddy and I had some good heart to hearts and I've rediscovered what I need to be and where my life needs to be....I was so happy and always felt so good eating right, excercising and being the man I want to be.

I used to be down to 175lbs, and I know for a man of my height (six foot four) it may be too thin, I want to work on definition, and I just want to be healthy and happy again.

I look forward to hopefully talk to everyone, now Im off to sign up to the gym, again.

- Scott

Welcome (at least to the posting part of CC).  Keep us posted as to how it's going.  I know it can be hard to get motivated to work out after you've taken some time off, but just try to remember how great it feels!

Hello Scott, thanks for charing your story. Please keep the momentum up... it's worht it! Also, don't let anybody convince you that you are funnier, nicer etc etc whith extra weight. You know better than anyboddy else what's best for you. Keep it up!

Wow, what a great story. Glad to see you posting and I encourage you to post often, even it's just to Hi, I'm still here. Be sure to add "friends" and read their posts. I try to stop by every day or so and at least post my eating menu for the day, maybe a quickie recipe, or not post at all. But I always read my Friends posts. They are so inspiring and let me know that I am not alone or forgotten, and even slips are only human and no one every berets me about it.

So, I will be adding you to my friends list and invite you to do the same!

Have a most wonderful day!
