So I went beserk over the weekend (long weekend for us here in Boston area). I have eaten everything that is bad (read: chocolate, Doritos, blue cheese, ice cream, pasta...) in vast quantities.
I am now going to feebly try to get back on the wagon, but my motivation is so low- the old, I've blown it so I might as well BLOW it scenario. I dare not weight myself for fear of substantial weight gain. Plus, there are lots of things in my house right now that spell black-letter temptation, ie. my son's Easter basket!!
I need some insightful and reassuring words of encouragement.

Don't worry, the wagon has slowed down enough for you to climb on! You can do it!
first.. lock up the easter basket and give him one or two pieces a day.. it's better for him and you don't have to stare at it all day! second.. get rid of the bad stuff! if it's there it will call your name.. lastly.. don't weigh yourself for 3 days.. during this time i would drink lots of water and eat low sodium foods and stay within your calroie alotment and exercise.. you can salvage a messed up long weekend better than you can salvage a messed up 2 weeks.. or 3 weeks. or how ever long it would take you to get back up on that horse.. just coming here and asking for advice means you're not ready to give up... so stay strong!
I don't know if this will help you or not but I say go and weigh yourself! I gained over the weekend too, I bet many of us did, but I WANT to know and I can use that info for motivation. You started this because you want to be healthier so just log it, look at it as a bump and continue on.
Remember that this is a life change not a "diet" and everyone slips once in a while. Maybe you set yourself back a week. What is a week in the big scheme of things?
Think of why you started this in the first place and don't beat yourself up about it.

Thank you all. I knew that this is what I needed, firm reassurance goes a long way.
Eric- you are a braver soul than I- I am avoiding the scale, as if it were the avian flu
Ob- thank you, more water, less salt will be my mantra this week
Neeners- it's slowing......
