Does anyone here have issues with acne? What about on your back and shoulders?

What do you do about it to keep from getting huge breakouts and how do you hide it without wearing clothes which might clog your poors even more?

Better yet...does anyone know how to make it go away????!

I've been struggling with acne since I was in 8th grade, as soon as I got my period. I was put on so many prescriptions for it, and I've used everything out there for acne, including proactiv, which doesn't work for me...Menocycline was something I took orally for a long time, and I think it helped...and I might see about getting myself back onto it. But anyway, it cleared up pretty good for my entire last semester of Freshman year, and then I started getting small breakouts every now and then in my Sophomore year....and now THIS year, it's AWFUL! ugh, and the scars make me feel so self concious....I just need HELP with this. It's so embarassing.........

I had acne, not bacne, that appeared as cystic acne all of a sudden after I graduated from college and was an adult (adult-onset they call it). I was put on Accutane and it went away. Like a complete miracle. However, now my skin is super dry but I never get deep pimples anymore, ever. I cannot say whether Accutane would work for you but it has been nothing short of a miracle for me and most of my friends and family who suffered from legitimate acne.

I have bacne. I never had problems anywhere else. What I do starts with my daily shower. I wash and condition my hair first and THEN I do all the soaping and cleansing. If you wash and condition after body washing, then the oils in the conditioner sit on your back and cause or aggravate breakouts.

Also I have heard that some sun exposure is good for bacne. If it's not possible I suppose some moderate tanning salon visits would help. I also use an exfoliator about once a week on my back to address bacteria. Strangely, I have noticed when I lose weight, the bacne gets better.

I have suffered from bacne (and my dad too - I'm 27, he's 60).  My doctor put me on an oral antibiotic for 3 months and that cleared it up fairly well.  I still get the occasional breakout, but not nearly as bad.  My dad did the Accutane thing and it worked just as well.  His is much better - just the occasional spot or two.
There's a site that supposedly has a diet based cure for acne. I don't suffer enough to pay for it, but you can sign up for the newletter which gives you free hints. The basis of this is that apparently this guy suffered from severe acne, tried everything and anything and finally found the right combination of foods to keep his acne breakouts from recurring. It may be complete BS, but so far the free newletters haven't said anything that I think is wrong.
