Ketchup! Bacon! I'm with harryhotj on this one -- not the sort of recipe I expect from Calorie Count. The site itself criticizes turkey bacon as high in fat and sodium. Uh,yeah. That's why it tastes so good, but is not very good for you.
Good Lord, people! Appetizers are usually a "once in a while" sort of thing. Why make such a big deal about choice of bacon? Sometimes I read these comments and it sounds more like religion than sensible food choices.
I absolutely believe, unless you are normally a fanatic, one should cut themselves slack one day per week once you reach your ideal weight.
I have to go with ppal on this one. Calorie count has helped me to focus and tune in to my body's true physical needs, and the comments are interesting enough, I think sometimes people get away from simple, basic concepts of diet, nutrition, and exercise. "Be moderate and temperate in your ways". Not extreme...
Thank you, music! Like most folks, I have a tendency to "go off the deep end" at times. I'm 60 years old and I've worked hard to eat right and stay in shape. However, I've learned to practice moderation. If you enforce something extreme on yourself, eventually the body and mind will rebel. I read an article the other day in which the expert recommended we all give up all dairy and fruit! What utter nonsense! I just edited out that part of his recommendation and printed out his very good workout plan.
This sounds like a wonderfully improved version of the bacon wrapped sausages so often seen at parties. Honestly as an appetizer I can't see these causing harm, just don't overindulge!
