Bad Binge

Quote  |  Reply
I woke up this morning and weighed myself, finally having broken my plateau, was down 2. Here I thought this is great, I am back on track.  Then I went out for lunch with some friends and ate half a pizza.  I feel like I have gained the two pounds back.  Is that possible?

No don't worry!! It's okay! Listen it takes so long to put on weight and it takes long to lose it. One bad binge is not enough to tip the scales, you'd have to have several bad binges in a row over a week and then you'd have a weight gain. The body is much more resilient than the mind :) So don't worry about the pizza..it's no reason to quit now because what's done is done now so just get right back on track.

I am having a bad binging day myself...A LOT of peanut butter cookies (PB has always been a long standing weakness of mine) and now we're going to get pizza hut tonight because some friends are coming over ...so i'll just go for a long jog tomorrow morning and get back on track tomorrow. It's called being human. Enjoy!! Just because we are trying to lose a few doesn't mean we have to stop living. :)
It's actually good for you to shake things up a bit. Zig zagging calories, switching up exercises all keep the metabolism guessing and aiding in weight loss. You may actually have stayed within your calorie allotment for the day, depending on what else you ate. Shoot for a 500-800 deficit per day.

nah.  especially if you weighed yourself the same day or the day after.  It's water because of sodium.  One day isn't going to do much harm

Don't worry about it.  I felt bad about what I ate yesterday - part of a meatball sub, wings and fries for dinner after a total nosh fest all day and did not see an increase in the scales.  It happens and I agree with others.  Every once in a while it is actually better to increase your intake.  Just get back on it tomorrow!  Good luck!
