You are going to get hit with tons of posts on this one. Everyone will want to know your stats! Height, weight, exercise routine, etc. Could be water weight, could be you are working your butt off, we need details!

anyone there?
I think that you are doing great! Your body WANTS to loose weight and it is dropping it quick...you are eating enough. If/when it stalls, you may need to eat a bit more at that point...or drop a bit more...you will need to find what your body needs and eat it...if you feel great and have lots of energy, I say CONGRATULATIONS!
thanks
I absolutely agree! You are doing everything right and your body is taking it gratefully! Be happy that you are losing that much weight. Keep it going!!! :)
If you're very overweight then you can be carrying quite a lot of retained fluid. If you cut the amount of refined carbohydrates and sugars in your diet and increase your fluid intake (which most diets recommend) then you can see quite dramatic results in week 1. 7lbs wouldn't be unusual. I knew one 300lb man that lost 14lbs in his first week despite eating 2500 cals a day.
Between 1600 and 1800 calories should be the right amount for someone your size to lose weight steadily. But be prepared... Week 2 your body willl be adjusting and you may not lose anything at all. Best of luck

wouldnt I just have to eat more or less on week 2 if I stopped losing
no, week 1 is just abnormally fast for most people because you are cutting sodium and losing a lot of water. With that kind of deficit you've got going you shouldn't stop losing anytime soon, and if it gets too slow for you then start working out and don't adjust calorie intake until you've achieved some sort of a workout plan.... unless it's impossible. Just cutting calories is only half of the challenge to being healthy for most. But that is just a recommendation. If you aren't working out though I wouldn't expect such rapid weight loss to continue into next week and the week after " "
You keep going at the same level and wait for things to even out. The average 'safe' weight-loss is 1 - 2lbs a week. So, even if you didn't lose a thing for another 2 weeks you'd still be above the average. As the pp said, now's a good time to get into a reasonable exercise habit. Doesn't have to be drastic. Anything that gets you moving is worthwhile.
Sounds like you're doing fine at 1850 a day. People do lose quickly during the first week or so. Then it evens out to a steady loss.
Keep it up!! You will probably find that your loss turns into a steady 2 lbs a week in a little while - which is wonderful.

sounds like you are doing great, just DON'T get discouraged if you don't see such a big loss next week!!
thanks to all of you
