Bad me! Ice cream on a hott day, no good.
So, it's a beautiful day outside, so nice and warm compared to how it's been lately. Me and a friend decided to go downtown and walk around. She asks me if I want to go to Cow Cafe' (Ice Cream Place that I love) and I said yes even though I know better and while I COULD'VE gotten low fat vanilla or whatnot, of course I didn't, I got Coffee Fudge in a Waffle Cone. This is a local place I believe and I do not know how many calories were in this, can someone help please? I did walk for like two hours so I don't feel too bad about it but I just want to know how to count this so it doesn't ruin my day. Thank you!
No food is bad. Heck, ice cream has a nutritional factor in calcium from the dairy. Still, everything is fine in moderation. You should not EVER feel guilt towards eating. :\
Was it a single scoop?
I don't feel bad for it I just want to know how to count it lol.
Yeah it was. I wasn't TOO bad and I wasn't paying so I didn't want to make her pay for 2 scoops. :P
One scoop of coffee ice cream and a waffle cone? Estimate. You won't know the calories in everything and trying to know, well. That way madness lies.
So. On average, through CC's search tool, a waffle cone is about 90 calories. The ice cream, for a single scoop, anywhere between 140 to 170. I'd call it about 260 for the whole thing, myself.
Just overestimate the cal value and don't be so hard on yourself. If you restrict yourself so much, you're bound to binge and gain all the weight you lost back.
Be fair to yourself and realize there aren't bad foods...just better choices in portions.
Thanks lalabanana,
I counted it as 350 to be "safe" cause it was quite a bit and it was Coffee Fudge not just coffee.
and mparic, yeah that's what i did, i don't restrict myself, if i want something really bad i eat it and just work it in with the rest of my day. Thank you. :)
I envy you your hot day: it's been snowing in my part of Canada every couple days for 2 weeks now.

I counted it as 350.
Don't forget to count your 2 hours of walking...it probably covered/almost covered that amount of calories.
Everyone's advice here is so great. Thanks everyone for the great support we all give each other.
I could relate to your situation as I just had one as I was eating. I just didn't care. It's freezing cold here in Northern Idaho and snowing/hailing. ... Wow.. As I typed that thunder hit so hard that it shook my house. Anyway I didn't feel like cooking my skinless chicken breast so I broke out the hormell chili and ate the entire can. Is that bad?... probably a little, but I got plenty of protin. Plus as everyone has said you have to occasionally splurge. Besides, my mitigating factors like yours are that it was earlier so you'll have half of the day to burn them off. Additionally like your walking I had an hour workout which burned more than lunch. I'll just be sure to cook my chicken and stir fry tonight.
Try not to be a complete zombie and eat nothing but healthy stuff. I'm using this site to not only loose some weight, but also more importantly to learn how to REALISTICLY eat healthy. I emphasise that because I doubt anyone has plans to not keep the weight off they are loosing.
