This is bad, I know. When I am feeling like a chocolate candy bar, what do you suggest?

Okay, sometimes when that time of the month is about to come, I really really feel like a chocolate bar. Not even fat free chocolate pudding will help. So, if anyone could tell me the nutritional information of a Bounty Bar(preferably Canadian) and also any alternatives you could suggest here in Canada. I have never eaten or seen a Bounty bar but apparently they are Canadian so the nutritional information would be great too.

Chocolate is not the enemy.

I have a suggestion for you: If you know you need a Bounty Bar (and I don't know what the nutritional info is, sorry.), plan your meals INCLUDING the Bounty Bar. 2,000 cals is 2,000 cals.
I mean, yeah, it's better to get it from nutritious healthy foods, but.. if you need the chocolate, better to eat it than eat things trying to avoid it and then eating the bounty bar as well/anyways
try hot cocoa.  I prefer nestle's (its only 80 calories) the chococalte is there, and the hot quality of the drink makes your feel satisfied.
Fat free, sugar free, chocolate fudge instant pudding!
Actually an ounce of dark chocolate (not milk) can be included in a healthy diet.  It is rich in antioxidants and has some health benefits.  The intensity of dark chocolate usually kills the craving without having to eat as much.  Also health food stores tend to sell just small squares of dark chocolate.  I get my chocolate fix every month with some of this ;).  You can also get dark chocolate with rosehips in it or with blueberries, even lavendar for a unique twist :)

Try to imagine that chocolate tastes like tuna. Then you will never want to eat it ever. It doesn't work the other way round though, unfortunately.
I honestly eat some form of chocolate pretty much every day.  Most often it's in the form of a luna bar, but sometimes it's chocolate graham cookies from trader joes, sometimes hot chocolate, and sometimes it really is candy.  Some days I don't feel the need, but my chocolate calories every day keep me going, 85% of the time they are quite healthy calories, and I see no harm in it.

I'm sorry I cannot help you with Canadian info, but I do want to say that chocolate in moderation will not prevent you from losing weight.  It certainly hasn't kept me from it!  :)
Just like some of the other posts have said, count it into your daily caloric intake and maybe eat a piece of dark chocolate.  You just can't deprive yourself of the goodness of chocolate because before you know it your cravings will take over and you'll binge.

I'm a chocoholic, yes, I actually get headaches if I don't eat a little bit every day.  Chocolate is not bad it just becomes "bad" when we mix it with other things to make it into a candy bar and eat too much of it.

What I do to satisfy my cravings is this, I eat a little bit of solid dark chocolate or a little bit of milk chocalote if that's all I have.  For example, I keep semi-sweet or dark chocolate chips in the cabinet, when I crave it I take a small palm full and eat one or two at a time (it makes it last longer :) )  I have sworn of "candy bars" (snickers, twix etc.)     Hope this helps.
I agree with christins73, the secret is dark chocolate - in moderation, of course. I used to be a milk chocolate fan, but then read about the benefits of dark chocolate and decided to try to make the switch. I buy dark chocolate with at least 70% cocoa contant and have become a convert. Now milk chocolate tastes pasty. I eat a few squares of dark chocolate every day after dinner. It is such a blissful treat.

Read about the benefits here: http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/health/3185363.stm
Hershey's miniatures do it for me.  I just put the bag in an out of the way place so I don't clobber the whole thing at once and take one or two in to work with me.  Not many calories and it kills the craving just as much as a full sized bar would.  Hershey's kisses work well too, except I can't seem to stop at one with them.

And I agree with the dark chocolate fans.  It really is good stuff.
3 Hersey Kisses...
Get those cadbury thins, 100 cals a bar, I believe they come in dark chocolate as well.. : ) .. Or maybe a slimfast optima bar, they have a great chocolate peanut buttter bar.. But if you are doing 2000 cals a  day a reg chocolate bar will fit in fine and it isnt going to  kill you..
pandajenn, I too eat chocolate just about every day! Yesterday, it was a big chocolate chip cookie. Today, I think it might be a bit of dark chocolate.

alysee, Bounty bars are very much like our Mounds bars, IIRC, so you might use the nutrition info for those. Or call or email the company that makes Bounty bars and ask for nutritional info!
Snickers makes an energy bar called Marathon - and it is pretty good for a chocolate fix - also fairly good nutrition.
I'd go for a luna bar or some other type of flavored high protein bar.  Get your chocolate fix and some nutrition at the same time.
If you are going to eat chocolate, for a treat, find the lowest fat/carb option, stick clear of the mars and snickers, as its not pure chocolate, grab some rice bubbles/crispies (or any cereal, pref. low sugar/fat/cal), heat up 5-6 blocks in the microwave until runny, tip in the rice krispies, and make into little balls. Let them set.
A row of normal cadbury chocolate is about 150 cals I think. If you spread it over the days you "need" chocolate", mixed with rice kripies, it'll last longer, feel like you're eating more, and wont be so bad. Just dont keep the rest of the block of chocolate in your house.

Either that or just take a few squares, say 50 cal worth, melt and dip cut up pieces of fruit, like apple or strawberry into it
i have the same problem! i have an ounce of dark choclate everyday to help keep my cravings at bay! if you are looking for something filling and dessert like, kellogs has a cereal called FITNESS and there is a choclate flavored one that is fantastic. It is low in calories and with skim milk give you an added benefit of calcium. It is even portable ina small lunch bag to take as a snack!

I usually look at healthy cereal options for these cravings.

Also have a scoop of chocalte ice cream (appx 160 cals). With a graham cracker this is a delicious solution!

Don't avoid chocolate all together. It will send you into a downward spiral of binging, and we all know we beat ourselves up after those sessions! Good luck!
i found some nutrional info on Bounty- i like those too! - for 100g:

Calories : 471 kCal

Proteins : 3.70 g

fat : 25.60 g

carbs : 56.40 g

I agree with Christins73, dark chocolate will do it...and you will feel satisfy with less than milk chocolate. Single square 10g serving are perfect. The higher the cocoa content the better for you and the least fat (but other 85%...is very bitter!)
Hmm..I've never had a Bounty bar before....But I see no reason why you can't work one into your diet.

I'm a big binger so I'm avoiding candy, myself, but a good compromise has been to make my own hot "medicinal" chocolate- the mix up packets will NOT do. I use a tablespoon of dark cocoa, a generous dash vanilla, a dash of salt, a dash of cayenne pepper, and hot soymilk, and I sweeten it with xylitol...then savor it. It truly is thick, dark, and satisfying to my chocolate craving without totally blowing my day with sugar or fat.
